Fireworks at DHS Thursday 5/23

DHS will be having a fireworks show Thursday, May 23 at 10:15 p.m. above the Sorcerer's Hat stage. Fireworks will be launched from The Great Movie Ride, One Man's Dream, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, and near the Backlot Tour. Most likely for a private event as the park closes at 6:00 p.m. that day.

I'm not much a fan that groups can rent out the park and make it close early, but I guess business is business.

Corporations/Organizations do it all the time. Things like this are most likely to occur if there is a convention or something of the like in town and a big company wants to rent out a park for the night to have a company celebration.

It's very common actually. Most happen after hours through. I worked a night where DHS closed at 9pm but remained operational until 1:30a for Cheerleading World Finals party. Most day hurry just never see these events.

Is a "day hurry" what your iPhone calls a person who comes to the park and then leaves prior to closing?

I was there for the cheer party last year. They started arriving way before close. Run awaaaaaay.

I was at Universal and the parks closed early for Microsoft. I actually heard a guy yelling Windows 8 as he rode a coaster.

McDonals rented the MK out in April 2004 for a corporate party.

Maria Carey and Nick Cannon rented out DL one evening for a vow renewal. I know Harry Potter Conventions have Rented out the WWOHP for private Parties too.

Coca-Cola use to rent out Universal Studios for Burger King conventions every other year. Started around 7pm from what I remember. Biggest perk was free food and booze. Last one they had, we got to preview HP land and the queue for the main ride. None of the rides were actually open though. They even had a band greeting us on red carpet as we walked in. Did it twice and only two times I've been to Universal, but it was awesome! Free food, booze and zero lines? Ohhhh yeah
