never had noticed one before.. but going through the junk mail pile today found a big placard from Disney in it.. and low and behold it's the mythical discount PIN!

It's not that valuable this time.. up to 35% off rack.. or free DDP on select dates. But can't kick a gift horse.

Not enough to entice me to come.. but glad I've finally seen the white whale :)

Wish I would get one! I would use it no matter when it was. I live 3 hours south and would rearrange my schedule to go. In over 10 years never got one!:(

I seem to get them for times when I can't possably go. Hope they still have them when my schedule is more flexable

this was for periods through March for the 35%. The dates were different for the free dining, but don't recall.

To my knowledge, most PIN offers are for 'near term' travel.. aka the next 6 months or so.

i got one too about a week and a half ago...it showed ariel on the front saying, "wishing you can be a part of our world again!" it was for free dining until like mid march, then up to 35 % off select dates till june i think...we went last in late april/early may 2012...i would love to use these "mythical pin codes" lol, but alas, were not going back till april 26th, 2014 for our honeymoon (with two kids 7, and 3) in tow lol...

I got one (actually have gotten this same offer 3 times so far) - 35% for 1/2-3/4/13, 4/21-5/22/13 & 8/11-9/28/13; free dining for 1/2-3/7/13. Going to use the 35% off to book the Wilderness Lodge for the 4 days after my cruise in September. That's actually a better deal for me as a single than the free dining.

Yeah, i am with the OP here...the PIN discounts i have received are really not that much better then what is already being offered to the public.

I receive them all the time..both mail and e-mail. None of them were ever any different, or a better deal, then whatever at the time is being offered publically already as discounts.

So what am i missing..? Maybe the mythical PIN codes everyone seems to for were a lot better a few years ago. Is that the case then ? What is to be excited about when the offers are pretty much the same as on the Disney website?

I just scratch my head sometimes wondering why everyone seems desperate to receive these.

See some of the posts earlier in the thread - they have the dates. The card doesn't have full details on which resorts, dates, etc. Its more time windows and they tell you to call and I suppose the agent can get you the full discount/dates for the availability.

We just got one in the mail last week too, but once again, it came in my mother-in-law's name. It seems like every 2-3 years we get one sent to our address, but with her name on it. Strange because we live in Canada and she lives across the border in Michigan. Only thing I can think of is that she came with us on 3 of our 4 trips and we booked one room in our name and one room in hers. Other than that, can't figure out why they keep coming to us in her name. :confused:

Ah hah! So i am indeed missing out then...
Sure i get loads of PINS all the time...five within a month-long period last autumn, but none of them...NONE...were any better then the currantly offered deals anyone could score through the Disney website or elsewhere.

I knew i missed the boat.....du*oh...!

Thanks for letting me know Flynnibus...now it all makes sense.

So peeps reading - today*s PINs are really not all that much to get excited about now !

Bummer...

I have repeatedly received up to 35% offers for all the way through the end of September for 6 months. I get a new one via email about once every 3 weeks. It includes a free dining plan offer to, but they only go out until March. We are able to afford to stay at the Contemporary thanks to this pin code so I am super happy about it!

Just used mine to book the Wilderness Lodge. Made the difference between there and POR. Really excited as I've never stayed at WL before.
