Truly sad. Disney should've replaced the ride a long time ago.Yea, it's probably going to be like 2027 now before it happens. The thought of the current ride existing for 25+ years is making me sick

Yeah they are so cheap spending billions of dollars on park projects around the world.
Disney now had full ownership of the French parks and pays all of their costs. They don't pay the majority of the costs of the non-American and French parks.

Not sure why this was relevant anyway. Just domestically they are spending billions so the point still stands.
I see what you meant now it was just oddly worded.Never said they didn't. You misread my post.
Your post was misleading whataboutism and deflection.
Disney spending billions doesn't mean they're spending it well, or that they can't fund other projects.
The current version of JIM has been running since 2002. They've had almost 20 years to do something else with it, and have chosen not to.

Listen I am not saying that Imagination doesn't need a make over. It is long overdue. But its not appropriate to accuse them of being cheap while they are spending billions. Maybe you don't like the was they are spending their money but that doesn't mean they are cheap.

All things that have nothing to do with capital expenses like updating Imagination and the billions in park updates and expansions I am referring to do. And some of which are nothing but fan fantasies.A company can absolutely be "cheap" while spending a lot of money.
Think of minimal staffing, reduced operating hours, low quality toilet paper, not having park specific shopping bags or cups etc. All things Disney in the USA has been guilty of.
I'm not taking a side on this one, but it is possible to spend billions and still be cheap -- relatively speaking, of course. If a company really needed to spend 10 billion to fix everything correctly but choose to spend 5 billion and cut as many corners as possible, that's still a cheap decision (and no, I am not referring to Disney).
Or worse, you spend $1 billion on a $400 million project because you can't properly manage money, time or resources, something the company is often guilty of.
Sure, but that's being wasteful, not cheap!
It's more of a cycle for Disney.
They overspend on one thing and make cuts to another, which gives consumers the worst of both.
They do seem to be especially bad at project management/proper budgeting, at least as of late.
They’re stuck spending billions now because they spent years being cheap and trying to come up with schemes to avoid building. One recent action doesn’t undo over a decade of actions. They’re still cheap because there was no change of thought, they just ran out of ideas and are doing as little as possible.I see what you meant now it was just oddly worded.

Probably no new Figment ride until 2030+. Imagineering is just too ignorant to bring back Dreamfinder and Figment. Not the inferior creepy CGI figment that skunk farts at you with burnt coffee beans.
Bob Chapek failed.
Those budget cuts are coming. No new Figment ride. Cancelled
I think that’s very much a stretch. The original plan was for the current attraction to go down around 2023 and come back up around 2025. Now, with that said, I think everyone, including myself, are jumping to conclusions during this current situation, and while it may be dire, a time jump from a 2025 completion to a 2030 completion to me at least, is a stretch. I highly doubt this project will be cancelled, since unlike an attraction such as grand fiesta tour, which is actually an enjoyable attraction and was rumored to be replaced with coco, this attraction will be on its last legs, with all of the future additions that will be present surrounding it, drawing large crowds away from imagination, causing it to possibly meet the same fate as wonders of life for a small period of time, where it’ll just become abandoned until they figure out what to do with it, due to the cost of running it being unnecessary.Probably no new Figment ride until 2030+. They should have replaced the ride and announced but Chapek and Disney Parks are too cheap focusing on other trendy IP.
This situation wouldn't result in a "push everything back a few years" mindset. Think more "put it on indefinite hold," and we know where those projects end up...
