I dont think there is really anything significant here going on. Cast were notified that a backstage road running behind this area would be restricted for a couple of weeks starting in mid-July. They were then told this has been delayed and will be done later.

So yet another factually dishonest tweet has everyone in an uproar.

It was NOT a dishonest tweet. As the WDWMagic Admin said, there was definitely a delay for a backstage work that was supposed to be done, and it is linked to the new FotLK theater. That's it. It's just that people sometimes read too much into it. A minor delay happens, and people think that the entire project is cancelled. That's the issue.

How do we know it is a delay and not a simple rescheduling? Based on the information @wdwmagic provided we don't. Given that the person who posted it on twitter provided no further details, I doubt their info is any better. The whole idea that the project is "delayed" is just the typical morphing information into something that will generate buzz. Doing that is, IMHO, factually dishonest. For all we know everything is right on track and two phases of work are getting switched up in the schedule which is something that happens all the time.

The backstage work is indeed delayed (that specific word is used in the advisory). The thing that people don't understand is that it could be an extremely minor delay, or it could even have NO impact whatsoever on this project. I am the one who posted the Tweet, and I was completely joking saying "Avatar, Y U so complicated?" I am actually one of those who believes the AVATAR project will happen. I wasn't expecting someone to take that Tweet so seriously, though. I have to be more careful.

Chalk it up as a lesson learned. How what you say is structured can have a dramatic effect on how it is perceived by others.

You are right. I still have to get used to Twitter. What could be a joke or something minor could morph into something major.
That's true of the internet in general. Personally, I thought your use of "Y U" made it very clearly a joke. But some people have a Ben Stein sense of humor.
