Festival of the Lion King moving to Africa

Construction walls are up along the west side of the bridge leading into Harambe, obviously to block the views of construction behind Tusker House and new access bridge for FotLK (or should I say rumored bridge). I was only at DAK for lunch at Yak and Yeti, so I didn't get any pics, but will tomorrow. There could be more going on, but only got as close as the bridge into Asia, so I could only see the walls from a distance.

Is the parade still running during construction? Is it running a modified route?

They have an opportunity here to make the new show building for the FOTLK something really beautiful since they are building it in Africa, like a recreation of pride rock would be astounding.

I agree with respect to the interior of the building. They can even plus effects and things. The exterior should blend in with its surroundings. It really didn't stand out in CMM so the exterior was a non-factor.

The plans that have been seen appear to show an almost identical building to what is there now.

It would make sense that it would be similar in size and layout. But it definitely needs better theming such as faux wooden beams and better themed bleachers. And better theming on the exterior should be a given. Since this appears to be permanent unlike the previous facility, I am sure they will do it right.

I would agree, if this was placed in Fantasyland.
Being that it's in Africa, the theater needs to blend with the look of Harambe.
Im not sure of a plan looking entrance and dome is a fair look for harambe :/ I just think it would be such a nice addition to the park and give Africa some real flair

There is no way the building (dome) will be as apparent as it is now. Joe would throw himself in front of the bulldozers rather than let that happen.

The FLE should be a lesson to everyone that old school immersion is back in style.

IMO.

Rohde doesn't call all the shots at DAK anymore. See Avland.

But I agree, this and future phases of this area should be designed for the long term.

This is true, but he does still have a lot of imput. Notice the DTD expansion announcement when Tom said he spoke with Joe about how the project was moving along.
