I have this one and I like it- it too shrunk after the first wash, and the adult small now fits more like a junior's or kid's large... fyi

"Anyway..I think this thread needs more pics, but I'm working remotely today (It's SATURDAY !!???) and will need to wait to contribute my visual aide."

You want pictures? I'll give ya some stinkin' pictures! :D
Some of my favorites, in no particular order (except for the last one...)
Talk about thin- but I love it...

I also like the holiday-themed shirts:

Yep, backwards. And thin. Awesome:

Again, nice and thin/soft. I figured it would be heavy weight (it seems to me that lots of black t-shirts are) but I was pleasantly surprised to feel how thin and soft it is:

Two of my MOST favorite things in the world:

And the pièce de résistance:

Supposed to be thin? That's a good one. Supposed to be, yes - but not for the reasons you think.

It is indeed the reason I think. It's what people want. I've no idea how in/out of touch with fashion you may be, but people (well, younger people) don't want thick shirts. Thin and drapey is what companies are making.

Different strokes... Not saying you should like it, just letting you know it is in fact what many of us want.

The vintage logos/designs are definitely what I prefer, I just wish they either ditched the distressing or at least made it look real. Some are terrible.

My fave is probably my light heather blue one with spaceship earth and the monorail on it. Got it last year.

Informative... And not entirely surprising. ;)

Yeah, the fashion in tees over the past few years has been to create distressed/worn out looking shirts.
The fad is retro now, and with that some retailers equate that to *thin* materials. Back in the 80s a lot of shirts, especially souvenier types were quite thin...much like old 70s/80s rock concert tees. I have quite a few and many are paper thin as far as material thickness goes.

The retro fad naturally caught on with the marketing department at Disney...and it was considered cool and desirable to try to copy those already-worn-20-years ago looks on shirts. The good news is us retro Park fans could cash in big time with some awesome designs ( particularly EPCOT merch/shirts! ). The bad news? The price tags vs. shirt quality in some cases.

My all-time fave shirts tend to be EPCOT shirts from the late 80s. I have a few gems i like to wear now and then.
I have quite a few Figment tees as well from over the years, the fave probably being a grey long-sleeve from 2002 when Imagination was re-launched.
I also have a neat double-sided Magic Kingdom shirt with Park-specific attractions that feature characters enjoying the Park that i bought in 2000 or 2001.
I custom paint my own, and i wear them a lot when in the Parks. My custom made Roger Rabbit shirts and Orange Bird tees being the big faves every visit.

I should dig some shirts out and post some photos...!
The oldest shirts i have are from 1982, when EPCOT first opened. I have a blue youth Epcot Center Logo ringer and a matching blue Classic foot-up Mickey tee ringer. I kept these for the coolness factor, they are too short to wear now.

All of these are great!! I have the haunted mansion shirt, and enjoy the softness of it.
Where did you get the Christmas Carol one? I have found childhood memories of reading and seeing the movie/video.

Best t-shirt I ever had came from the Disney store in 1993 or 1994. It was grey (regular t-shirt grey) with a black Mickey in the middle and some writing on it. I wore that thing all the time and it held up so well. The neck started stretching out around the millenium and in 2002, tiny holes began appearing.

By 2005, it was a paint shirt and worn for cleaning, too.

In 2010, I laid it to rest.

Disney used to have the BEST quality clothing. That t-shirt's performance caused me to buy tons of other tees and sweatshirts, some of which I still have.

I no longer buy their clothes.

I got a "vintage" Mickey Mouse Club shirt from one of the shops at the GF a couple years ago and I love it. I also get comments on it all the time...one time I was asked if I was actually in the Mickey Mouse Club

I just bought a Goofy shirt last trip in January. I saw three tweens all wearing the same one and it was cool. It is a bright Orange Goofy shirt with part of him popping out the front and part of him coming out the back. I have a similar one of Mickey from Disneyland in gray. I love these shirts.

Thanks! I ordered the Christmas Carol one online- I saw someone wearing it at the parks this past holiday season and was on the hunt after that. If you just google it, you'll find them. I too have fond childhood memories of that film- and I show it to my Kindergarten students every year. It's a great way to introduce Charles Dicken's to the wee ones ;) Good luck and happy hunting!
P.S,- My new hunt is for a Mickey's Philharmagic tshirt, which the Philharmagic gift shop had up until about a month ago, now it's no more and I can't seem to track one down anywhere!! Should have bought it when I first saw it, grrrr.

Thank you for all of the info. Happy hunting!! I will be doing the same. (I tend to spend a lot of time hunting down Disney shirts). I have found some awesome ones on eBay.

Thank you, again!!

I only have one Disney Shirt and I only bought it because I was cold and wet and wanted to change into something dry.
I love it, but already after not washing it THAT many times, the black has gone a fuzzy, and started to fade. Well gutted.
I can't find a picture of it but it's one from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride store with a red Mickey Mouse skull and crossbone on it. Totally neato.

My favorite t shirt is the one with the Monorail and monorail spiel on it. I bought it in 2007 and have been wearing it to bed almost every night since! It is a really soft material.. great quality.

Well, I have many favorites but I really like the two I've bought on my past Disney trips. This Goofy shirt was one I got on my most recent Disney trip

And while not official, here's a custom made shirt I made on a WDW trip in 2010.
