Favorite things to do in the parks with your kids

Where we live we just wrapped up school and for the first time we have a jam packed summer. Dance camp, swimming lessons and art lessons and she is only 4! This got me to thinking of things we could do together just to make the summer feel special and relaxing and of course in my Disney obsessed mind it had me thinking of my favorite things we did together on our first trip with her and what fun new things we wanted to try with her this trip.
So, my question to you is what are your favorite things to do with your kids at the Parks?

Our favorite things so far have been meeting the characters - the princess & Mickey & Minnie especially made DD light up. Also, Enchanted Tales with Belle was our favorite attraction with her. She got to play a little fork & spoon, and it was so sweet. She clapped at the end & said 'thank you' to Belle. She's only 19 months old, so this made me tear up.

We loved seeing Philharmagic with her, which was her other favorite thing. She wore the classes, and again clapped & cheered. The carousel is a big favorite. Playing in the splash areas in the parks, like the Casey Jr trains, or in DTD, was a huge hit & hilarious to watch. The playgrounds & swimming pools have been lots of fun as well.

Can't forget the Magic Kingdom morning show too. Almost nothing can beat watching that, or fireworks, with your kids. :)

hmmm...trying to think of some of the other things we've enjoyed at WDW with our kiddos...

1. Letting the girls play in the sand while we watch Fireworks (i.e. Poly, YC/BC, etc.)
2. Ice cream at Beaches & Cream...even if it spoils a bit of your dinner ;)
3. Joining your kids in Enchanted Tales w/Belle (I got to play the Wardrobe)
4. Popping by MK to watch the opening show on a non-park day and then heading on to a relaxing breakfast.
5. Touring the resorts on a non-park day (and having them find the cartoon viewing area)
6. Riding the carousel as a family
7. Letting them spin me at the Mad Tea Party until I'm green :D
8. Getting into meals like 50s so the kids can have fun with the server making fun of mom and dad
9. As much as I miss everything from the Imagination pavilion, it's fun having everyone make their own Figments and email them home to each other as a silly joke.
10. While you can't do it year round, getting out in the middle of the street during Osborne Lights- dancing to the holiday music with the kids or singing along quietly as we walk through

OK- I could come up with more...but this is what I've got right now :)

One Little Spark...
Face Painting - the kid loves to get her face painted
Jedi Academy - I love watching her get into Star Wars as much as I am
Letting her play in the water fountains at DTD
Sharing a Turkey Leg while waiting for the 3p Parade
Playing with her in the Boneyard, watching her bury her legs
Riding on a Sea Raycer together and exploring the Sassalouga River

My son really enjoyed relaxing and playing in the sand in Dinoland. It was a nice break from the heat because it was shaded and he loves to dig. He also enjoyed Tomorrowland Transit and Jungle Cruise just because of his love for all objects that move. It really doesn't take a lot to impress my kid lol!

My favorite moment with my son has been the unexpected little things, like the time at DTD, when he discovered how much running through a water spot can be.Or when he runs across Push around the park and two years later still carries on about him. Or Honey I shrunk the kids playground when he is busy climbing the same spiderweb trap that I did as a kid. Its moments like these that are often my favorite.

So many things~pools, kids faces when they see a character, playgrounds, pictures, playing on Buzz ride and TSM ride, seeing their faces light up with the fireworks and the best is the hugs and kisses at the end of the day thanking me for the best day ever. :)

I'd have to say it was walking along and pointing out little details or finding an unexpected character out and about. As some said earlier, it's the little moments that can surprise you and ultimately stay with you.

My daughter is 17 now, and I cherish those earlier Disney memories more than most. No cell phones, no boys (grrr!), just mom and dad and the Mouse. When she actually liked hanging out with us "old" people. Enjoy every moment you can at and away from Disney, the time is fleeting, but you'll have the memories forever.
