Favorite Thing to do at Disney

Arriving at Epcot and riding Space Ship Earth, riding Living With the Land, The World Showcase. Drinking thoes Marguritas from Mexico getting ready for the fireworks.

Being dirt poor growing up in the seventies my parents managed to scrap together enough money to take us 4 kids to Disney in 1977. I was 5 but remember it being one of the best times in my life. Now I come to Disney 1 or 2 times a year and I still get that feeling.

That really sums things up. Just being in another world, away from work, real life, & responsibilities. Being in that bubble is the closest thing to temporarily stepping back into your childhood. It's magical.

As far as one specific thing, I'd have to say every aspect of the Monorail. Waiting for it to arrive, watching it as it gets closer, then pulls up in front of you and the doors open and you get in. Listening to that recorded voice, and just the anticipation to get wherever you are going. I think I have an unhealthy obsession with the Monorail. :D

amen...i think you've summed it up perfectly

My favorite thing to do at WDW is enjoy myself and not search for bulbs that need replacing or walls that need fresh paint.
I get that, I hope always enjoy myself and not consciously look for flaws, but when you go to the parks as much as I used to go to Disneyland in Anaheim, after a while you can't help but notice certain things you didn't before, both the good, the bad, and things in between. And yes, that unfortunately does include when a bunch of light bulbs are burned out.

Anyway, one of my favorite thing is to sit and rest somewhere with a view, like Casey's on the other side of the hub from the Castle, one of the benches in front of the lake at Coronado Springs. Geez I sound pretty old. I guess part of the view thing would also include water transportation like the ferry from TTC to MK, or the boat between Port Orleans to DTD, those are the best ways to get anywhere on the property.

For me, the magic starts when I book my reservation and start to plan out the details of my vacation. If I am travelling with a newbie, I try to imagine what would make the best memories...and start planning out restaurants, tours, etc.

Once I am there, maybe it's an oddity, but I love to listen to the theme music of all the parks and the lands. Just this morning (it's been a few rough days for me) I posted on facebook that 'I can hear music. Sweet, sweet music' because in my head I heard the music from Frontierland and knew that I was just a few short weeks away from leaving all of my worries behind for a few days.

Other than that, it's the Dolewhip, Soarin', and meeting Winnie the Pooh. It's not an official vacation until I see that silly ol' bear. Oh, and enjoying a glass of wine on the balcony of my room at night. The things I can't do at home.....

My favorite thing to do at Disney is walking down Main Street, USA through the castle and into Fantasyland. At that point, I have left the real world. :king:

This most recent trip I finally did a bench stop, and I was amazed at how much more I took in. My fiancée is not as much of a "go go go" person as I am and he sort of tricked me into it by getting pretzels and beer in Germany. I had to sit to eat to make sure I didn’t spill or drop either. After sitting for a while he had a smirk on his face which was when I realized what he was doing and well Im really glad he did.
To me its just a feeling of total immersion in your surroundings, and well after that we scheduled "bench time" each day after.

His favorite thing is a tie between star tours (he’s a huge star wars fan) and the ESPN zone (also a sports nut). Mine is that first time you enter the park on the first day. It dosent matter what park, just that feeling of walking in and knowing your at your happy place.

I love the moment when I get up the first morning, get ready, and walk down to the lobby of my hotel and see everyone up and excited for a day at Disney. I love waiting for the Disney bus - because everyone is excited and there's so much anticipation about your magical day ahead! Florida has such an amazing smell - I love when it's hot, and the sun's shining and i've got my Minnie ears and sunglasses on. It's just such a magical elated feeling.

I also love eating dole whips, riding the monorail, and walking down Main Street USA.
