The Big Escape.

Well just being able to get to enter the magic bubble,my reference to WDW.and escaping the outside world.Seeing the sights of everything in every park, the shows, parades.Smelling the scents of magnolias and orange blossom.Trying out various foods from other countries in Epcot.Watching the smiles of children and their parents on various rides. Then late at night standing on main street USA watching "Wishes",and after back at our resort, dreaming about tomorrow and how lucky we are to be here.

My favorite thing to do at WDW is to arrive at our resort and check-in! There is nothing like that feeling when you come home the WDW and the bell man or door greater says to you "Welcome Home" and the automatic doors open.

Walking thru the tunnel at MK and purposly staying in front of City Hall untill I get around the flagpole and then walk to the middle and look up Main St to the castle. I stop. . . . . . .look up and down Main St then all around me at the buildings and the train station and say YESSSSSSSSSS. . . . . .this is it, I'm "home".

Hanging around MGM ( sorry, it will all ways be MGM to me ) untill late when most everyone has gone and stand in the middle of the street and just do a slow 360 degree turn and soak in all the great buildings with their fabulose moving and flashing neon.

Leaving the world behind....................that's my favourite activity.

But to be specific, the first ride I ever went on in 1991 was Small World. To this day, the first thing I do at MK is Small World, every time. I have arrived when that happens.

Other than that, Carousel of Progress, Hall of Presidents, Country Bear Jamboree, Pirates, Haunted Mansion are attractions that leave me the happiest. Philharmagic is up there too now

There are so many things that have become favorites... (like Aloha, I HAVE to ride Splash mountain at least twice per visit!)

But I think my most favorite is resort hopping!

I love getting on the buses, boats or monorail and just tooling around to look at all the different resorts.
Sometimes we stop for a snack, or check out the gift shop, or take a look at the bathrooms.(yes, I realize that's a little weird.)

The Epcot resort tour is always a walking tour and ALWAYS... though not planned that way...in the pouring rain.

We like to take the buses that go to different resorts on the same route too.

I know it's kind of a wacky thing when you only have a 3 or 4 day trip, but no trip to WDW would be complete for us, without checking out at least the monorail hotels.

My wife's first response was "eating." Her actual answer was riding Splash Mountain. We do love going to all the different restaurants though.

My favourite thing to do at WDW is probably ride the bus to the parks. Yikes, weird favourite thing! It is what is at the parks that influences it, but the feeling of having the whole day ahead of me at one of my favourite places and being on my way can't be beat!

I know what you mean. I love the feeling of landing in Orlando, being on the Magical Express...it's the anticipation coming to an end and the "I'm in Disney!" feeling kicking in, and that's awesome!

Riding the Monorail. It leaves me with the feeling that this is something special. Nothing says I'm at Disney World like getting on the Monorail, and riding the highway in the sky. Second place would be Pirates of the Caribbean, I just think that the ride is great ( I prefer the pre Captain Jack show).

My favorite thing is to stand around World Showcase as the 30 minute pre IllumiNations music kicks on and watch the sunset and the lights around Epcot come on and the countries light up as we get ready for the show and the torches come on.

- the puffins roost after riding maelstrom. something about leaving the ride and smelling the geir ness norg colognes always makes me feel like i have arrived. i was online the other day messing around and came across the cologne sold in the Norway pavilion on amazon. i was thinking of purchasing it but i feel that it might diminish the experience when i return to norway.

My wife and daughter were just talking about the "smells" of Norway a couple of days ago. :ROFLOL: They both fell in love with the colognes last trip. Wanted me to buy some for myself, even though I'm sensitive to strong smells and can't usually wear cologne. So I guess that shows you HOW much they liked them; willing to risk dear old dad's health to be able to smell that on a daily basis - Geesh!!

My first favourite thing happens before we even get there - the car ride down. As crazy as it sounds, and believe me, I've got a buddy who thinks I am absolutely crazy for always wanting to drive down from up here in Canada rather than fly, I REALLY look forward to the whole car (van actually) ride down. It takes us a full day and a few hours the next morning, but I absolutely love everything about it! It doesn't hurt that we have always gone during our Spring Break up here (3rd week in March) and it is usually always snowy and cold still when we leave. I love leaving in the morning with snow on the ground and stopping for the night and getting out to discover that we don't need our winter coats or gloves any more. The next day is even better when we wake up and can put our shorts on and arrive at Pop Century to 70-80 degree weather!! :sohappy:

But once we have arrived at WDW, there are plenty of things I LOVE to do! People watch, like a lot of people have already said. Relax around the pool at Pop Century. Walk down Main Street on that first full day and see the castle and stand there and let it soak in that we are lucky enough to be vacationing at WDW again. I really couldn't pick just one thing I love doing at Disney. I do have two things that would be right at the top of my list though - visit Epcot and ride SSE and take a trip around the world in the World Showcase, and spend a relaxing, sunny (hopefully warm) day at Typhoon Lagoon riding Crush n Gusher and floating along in the lazy river and all that!

Epcot and Typhoon Lagoon are definitely my two favourite parks there, with Magic Kingdom coming in right behind them. :sohappy:

I've answered this question before by saying walking under the arch and looking down Main Street and seeing the castle. But that is just the first impression and there is so much more. As I think about it more my favorite thing to do at Disney is everything. I get as much pleasure sitting and enjoying a Dole Whip and watching people pass by as I do dropping down the Tower of Terror. I guess, for me at least, it is the totality of the experience. Being in the "bubble".

I agree, sitting on a park bench and looking around is fun because just knowing that your in the greatest place on earth makes it the best thing ever.

Being in the "bubble".

That really sums things up. Just being in another world, away from work, real life, & responsibilities. Being in that bubble is the closest thing to temporarily stepping back into your childhood. It's magical.

As far as one specific thing, I'd have to say every aspect of the Monorail. Waiting for it to arrive, watching it as it gets closer, then pulls up in front of you and the doors open and you get in. Listening to that recorded voice, and just the anticipation to get wherever you are going. I think I have an unhealthy obsession with the Monorail. :D
