Hi, I was just wondering what everybody's favorite restaurants were in Epcot, because lets face it Epcot has the best food... I'm a big fan of basically any restaurant in the world showcase myself, its so hard to pick one out. But then, I'm asking the question and don't really have to answer myself, right? :animwink:

Hiya, Daisy A!

I enjoy all of the restaurants that circle the lagoon. I especially enjoy Norway, since that is where we always eat on New Years Eve. I like the lobster bisque at the restaurant in France and I like the atmosphere at the restaurant in Italy. The last time I went to the Mexican restaurant, I was not very impressed but the theming there is really good.

You must have a favorite, Daisy. What is it?

Although its kind of gone downhill lately, mine would be Coral Reef. I just love seafood. Also, the restaurant in Japan is great too. Sushi....mmmmm. :slurp:

There are four that we always eat at: Mexico, Norway, Germany and Morocco. If we have time we will try to catch Japan, and China. The only one we have not tried is the fancy French restaurant.

Teppanyaki Dining. A Bennihanna only better. It is one of our sure fire stops at WDW.

I too wasn't impressed with the San Angel Inn. Although it probably has some of the best theming outside of the Sci-Fi Dine in Theater.

21 days and counting.

Actually Tink,
I'm only human, I do have a few favorites... Akershus has a great variety of choices for the vegatarian who may eat fish (like myself) then there's the little lounge in Japan, even though the service was not phenomenal, the setting is fabulous. And of course everyone knows Disney World and sushi are a winning combination.... Bakery wise though I'm truly torn between Norway's Kringla og Cafe (I think thats what its called) and the divine French bakery... ahhh... I get a little thrill just thinking about it....

What do you think is best bakery wise?

Well, Dais, for sentimental reasons, I think I prefer the Kringla (school bread, etc.) but in terms of pure decadence, I must choose the bakery in France (Marvelous - need I say more?).

Of course, I love the frozen mousse triangles at the California Grill but we're talking strictly Epcot - World Showcase, right? :animwink:

Mandib - Morroccan restaurant is called "Restaraunt Marrakesh". I like it, too.

My favorite in EPCOT is Le Cellier Steakhouse in Canada. Quiet, subdude, off the beaten path, and the steak salad, steaks, and desserts are great. (That's my best for EPCOT, but I don't think EPCOT has the best dining @ WDW.)

BTW - I'm new here, and am finding it quite nice. It's good to be here.

For best bakery, got to go with France! mmmmmm!!

Le Cellier!

Without a doubt, Le Cellier is the best. The Cheese soup and the mushroom filet are to die for. I really enjoyed Restaurant Akershus in Norway last time we were there. I thought the food was very high quality, and a great variety.

I also think that San Angel Inn could be one of the worst restaurants in the world. They have such great atmosphere, but there food is horrible.

Outside of San Angel Inn, I have found the food to be much improved in the last 10 years. When we made our first visit, I was not impressed at all with the selection or quality. I can honestly say that I did not have a bad meal during our last stay in October.

Oh, yah, I have to put in a plug for my favorite restaurant, Spoodles, it is close enough to be considered as an alternative to the restaurants in EPCOT, and far better than any of them as well!

The Best Food at WDW!

Most of the restaurants at WDW are good and over the years, I've eaten at most. However, WDW offers one food that is very difficult to find outside of WDW. Giant turkey legs! Sunday House Foods Inc. supplies the turkey legs to WDW and they are hard to find at the retail level (at least since the fire). The Sunday House Turkey plant in Texas burned down in September, 1999 so I think they moved their new plant to Missouri. Anyhow, those smoked turkey legs are the best. They sell them from carts and stands in all the parks. Give me a juicy orange, a turkey leg and a cold beer. It's the breakfast of the Gods.
