Favorite Old EPCOT Ride

This is not an attraction really, but I think they should bring back the Bird & Robot from the old World of Motion. They could put it in the Test Track showroom.

Ride would have to be Horizons and the orange smell.

But attractions would have to be the old Commicores. I especially liked the one where you had to put the American Flag together. :)

I always thought that little red fury thing was awesome when it came close to you because of the effects. It was like a 3D Sci Fi music video! I thought it was wrong to close down the show because of what happened with Michael.

Since I can only remember walking round the world showcase in Epcot it's gotta be Captain EO for me too - although I thought it was in mgm - obviously my mistake!

This one's a tough call :)

I guess I'll have to go with Horizons. World of Motion and the original JII were great, but there was something special about Horizons. Maybe it was the Omnisphere, the cool ride vehicles, or that orange smell. Any way you cut it, it was an amazing attraction.

Hooray Disney Dentist!

I was wondering why not many people named world of motion.

How can you forget looking in the mirror and seeing yourself in the futuristic car, or how about the guy inflating the bike with that HUGE bubble in the tire, and last but not least the cop behind the billboard on the motorcycle!

Ahhh....I miss that ride.

Well, I never liked neither the old or new JIY. I miss horizins. I only rode it ONCE because of all the times I went and it was closed. That ride was awesome, and every time I look where it once stood, I get sad. I miss it so much. But, some things have to go.

Ah where getting mission space anyway. Out with the old, in with the new!:D

I liked Captain EO - wasn't there a "bad woman" who had long fingernails that came out of the screen at you?

Absolutely! She was like some kind of robotic woman who hung from the ceiling with long black fingernails. Then she turns into the beautiful woman at the end.

I always thought World of Motion was a very good and underated ride. Would love to ride it again, the scenery was first rate, mostly authentic artifacts. The topic just wasn't drawing in the riders, I cannot ever remember standing in a line.

Horizons may have had the best cars, those suspended vehicles made you really feel like you were floating through the ride.

But if one ride were to come back it would have to be figment, they invented a classic then detroyed it, a huge blunder. This was probably the one ride in Future World that little kids could really look forward to, and they took it out. Someone at the top was really asleep on this one.

I know...

i always loved the world of motion because there were several rooms that were like the old "if I had wings" in tomorrow land that made you feel that you were somewhere else moving at a different speed. Like the movie screen wrapped all the way around, you know? Plus when I was young, I was facinated by the fact that you boarded inside and then went outside before the ride began - they need to reincorporate that idea into a new ride in the future.

Then again, I can still remember a lot of the words to JIYI... I loved Figment and the song he sang..

Imagination, imagination....

DMC-12

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
I am torn between the orig. JIY and Horizons

I remember my first time to Epcot as a young boy...ah yes...I believe the year was 1984 or 85...no 85 I went to Washington D.C....anyway....JIY the orig was the best... Long Live Figment.
My sister was Really into Figment though...she had the Plush Stuffed Figment and all the other figment/JIY related stuff to.

My vote goes to World of Motion. I loved how the ride went up and round on the outside. I got some great pictures while on that ride of the monorail, Spaceshipe Earth and the World Showcase. Also the characters in the ride was total Disney. Love the horse who was blocking traffic.

I guess I'd have to go with Captain EO. I really got a kick out of EO's shipmates... Remember them? The robot/drummer/drums... The clumsy keyboard player....

Oh yea, the young ladies in the final dance number... Even Anjelica Houston (post transformation).... Whoo Hoo!!! :slurp:

I can still remember the final song too.... "Another Part of Me" (cut 6 on MJ's "Bad" album).

(OK, I had to dig deep into my CD collection to find that one:animwink:
