I’m not sure about this. Universal owns the rights to Chucky. As of right now it’s unclear whether a deal will take place between MGM and Universal. Although, it wouldn’t make much since on Universal’s end as a Chucky TV series will be debuting this fall. The rumor is, MGM will use the Child’s Play title but will introduce entirely new characters.
