I like Tramp's Roy Orbison songs - I'd even throw "In Dreams" in as another classic heartbreak song. Also like one of tigsmom's choices - "It's Only Make Believe" by Conway Twitty.

The artist that I feel has the saddest songs throughout their catalog is Bruce Springsteen. Two specifically get me every time - "The River" from The River and "Downbound Train" from Born in the U.S.A.

Here's "The River":
