Favorite at AKL...?

I'm feeling really "homesick" today. What is everyone's favorite/fondest memory/thing to do at Animal Kingdom Lodge?

I'll give you my top three...

1) Boma breakfast
2) Talking to the CM staff from Africa
3) The concierge lounge

Hmm, two out of the three are about food...I eat to much. :slurp:

Another vote for breakfast at Boma. Mostly I like just wandering around and looking at all the displays and animals. My bf on the other hand...he loves the arcade.

I love just walking through the lobby and smelling the great smells from Boma when it is quite and peaceful. Which is normally only late at night.

Also, nothing beats getting up in the morning and walking out on the balcony to watch the animals having their breakfast.

Breakfast at Boma is just icing on the cake for me.

All mentioned above, plus the wonderful music in the lobby. We have tried several times to purchase the music but it isn't available. The Animal Kingdom CD is a real close second though...to those that wonder how to get the music. Just love the resort, beautiful place to stay.

Ahh Pam, me too. Enjoyed our meeting last May. Hope to get to do that again soon with Rob in tow. Hey Rob :wave: . But Boma's does have the best food in my opinion, just love the variety. Those are the wonderful smells that hit you in the lobby...:slurp:

My son loves the bridge, and walking over the waterfall in the lounge area. My husband & I just enjoy having a glass of wine there, and WATCHING my son go up and down the stairs.

However, I'll warn you...the wine isn't cheap!

We got back from AKL on Oct. 4th. We had a great time. Jiko was one of our favorite restaurants for the entire trip. Shellie was our server and she was just great.

We also loved our room (5413). We had a great view of the Savannah and the overall service was wonderful. It was in the concierge level so we were very well taken care of by the staff.

The Sunrise Safari was well worth the cost (of the tour and staying at the concierge level). It is great to go on the safari ride and be able to stop and take great pictures. There is also something about hearing the lion roaring first thing in the morning that makes the hair stand up on your arms.

I'd love to be in the Gift shop, then I would like to be at the pool, looking forward to my reservations at Boma.

And just walking around seeing all the neat architectual (spelling) work.. and the ANIAMLS!!!! I would have to say thatw as THE BEST HOTEL I HAVE EVER EVER EVER did I say EVER stayed?!

We ended our CBR stay with one night at AKL just last week. Our first time. It was wonderful. My two favorite things were my kids staying on the balcony for thirty minutes when we got to our room just looking at the animals. Second the activities they have scheduled i.e. the kids made masks at the pool, the night vision goggles.

Boma was a little more exotic then my usual tastes but still yummy. My daughter was disappointed there were no Simba's paw prints.
