Fastpass returning June 1st???

No... That's why I'd prefer no Fastpasses.... Because rides that don't typically have lines end up having lines with Fastpass... It's a flawed system.

We were able to get our expired APs renewed recently. I’ had never experienced a non fastpass WDW. Our first visits in 2010 still had the ticket machine FPs.

It is AMAZING just how quickly the lines move for the omni mover rides and many others.

BUT even with that being true, as a Local, we really like the FP+ system. We could head to a park for a few hours, get on 3 rides with FP and wait for a couple others and head home. I know other locals completely disagree but I guess we just aren‘t as spontaneous as them. We typically plan out our weekend day early in the week. So it was great.

I’m torn.

The minute you step foot in a line that is not a FP+ queue, the "couple others," as you mention, you are giving time you saved back to Disney, as whatever standby lines you do wait in will be 2-3x the length they would be without FP available. It's a parlor trick. A casino game.

That’s fair. I’m speaking as a tourist from SC on week long vacations. I can get behind locals liking the system for a short trip.

Want to crash Disney's website, and clear out the message boards for a few minutes, just make a comment about like "I can't believe I got flight of passage fast pass for everyday of our trip next week. I guess nobody knows fastpass+ opened up today"

Oh, I definitely know what is happening. But we also don't pick attractions with long waits for our non-FP experiences. We take in some shows and pick the near walk ons. We're pretty much in and out of the park in 3 or 4 hours and then head to eat somewhere or shop around Orlando and make the hour drive home. (Again this is a totally selfish view)

As an out-of-town visitor, if our last day was an inexpensive addition (5th or 6th day is usually super-cheap) we would commonly do the same thing. Have three reserved spots for the rides we wanted to see again or didn't want to wait for on the previous day; take in whatever didn't have a bad line and then magical express home. It was great.

I'll be really, really interested in seeing how things are next week. First corona trip didn't have lines altogether so didn't count; second one was occasionally a real mess. We're splitting time at Universal and WDW for the first times as well so that's going to be interesting also.

While I hate it, WDW has a real opportunity to not shine this trip
