My wife and I are planning a long weekend trip, and as of now we are not buying park passes unless they make APs available again. We plan to just hang out by the pool, walk around Disney Springs, check out the Riviera Resort which we haven't seen, and have some nice dinners at resorts on property. We love the parks but I'm not excited about paying hundreds of dollars so we can walk around the parks for a few days. I would do the same thing anytime I don't feel I'm getting good value from the parks - including if I can't get on attractions because of a lack of FP or really long lines.

But you’re still going. As long as the “planning a trip but…” is in place, they have the leverage.

I want APs too…I think I will get them…but my interact with guest comm doesn’t give me any illusions. They know exactly what l’m thinking/saying and they know exactly what I’ll do…statistically. The only way i were to Become “dominant” in this (same as you)…would be to disappear for about 2 years and take 2 million of my closest Friends with me.
Fwiw the latest version of the MDE app that came out this week (I looked at the Android APK code) had new code around annual passes. Wouldn't be surprised if an announcement is imminent.

Also fwiw and not that it means much, but up until this release you could search for FP+ in the app you could get to the old (broken) book a FP page. But as of this week, you can still search for that page, but clicking on the link now does nothing.

Talking to a friend who is a Disney travel agent for a big Disney company, he says alot of what your seeing is people who did not cancel their reservations last year who are now getting them filled. I cant believe they didnt just refund like we did. But he says they have a TON of them.

People want to take their Disney vacation, h*ll or high water. Especially after the pandemic they need their dose of magic in addition to their vaccine!

That makes perfect sense…which means they’re not “gobbling it up” at full price…they’re just augmenting What they already paid…which is a big difference
