Hey sorry about not posting in a long time, just came back from my short summer vacation.
:animwink:

Teacher , may i have a bathroom pass.... PLEASE!!! Gees.. I feel like im back in school!

Sorry for those awful awful memories!!

I think this is very funny coming from a mechanical engineer. Come to the Civil Engineering side, it is much much better

Funny?? How come?? I though about moving to civil. But I stuck with mechanical. And Im not a mechanical Engineer yet. Im only on my third year. but all enineering is mostly the same till the last 2 years... Are you a civil engineer? We should talk some time!:animwink: :hammer:

Is there a friggin' test?

YES! There is only one question!
Here it is!

In Which Park is ToT Located??

 ( I hated when teachers emphesized so much on details when reading novels and stuff and then on test ask stupid questions like the one above. I actually got a few of those wrong.)
OK, after staring at this a little longer I'm figuring that the 11.76m/s^2 is a typo and it's just supposed to be 11.76m/s, right? The seconds that are cancelling out are the a and the t, I think.

Yeap it was a typo.

At this point are we hitting 70.21 MPH and then slamming into the basement floor? We haven't accounted for braking at all. If the fall truly is 13 floors in 2 seconds that 2 seconds must include braking time, right? If so, how does that affect the final velocity above?

Yeap. Your right.
We haven't taken into consideration, the breaks, Friction, and air resistance.

So We can say it never reaches 70 mph.

I still think the plane I take to orlando is faster!:sohappy: :p

Yeah, but that isn't really AT WDW. :)

Since we are being pulled down mechanically would friction and air resistance even matter? I mean, for the most part, the engines are going to pull us down at the same rate every time. I would imagine that the friction would be fairly constant and air resistance won't fluctuate that much, right?

Oh! And, ToT is located at Disney-MGM Studios.

Oh yeah... Forgot about that.

Right, friction and air resistance would not be that big of a deal. The difference would be only a few miles say from 5 to 1 mph. Now I don't really know how ToT works, if it's only a push down on the elevator and gravity takes over or if some kind of mechanisim actually controls everything from top to bottom. So I would not know in that depth.

All I can say is you can probably win a bet with a 65mph to 55 mph guess.

All these calcutions to figure if ToT was the fastest when the answer was right there. DOH!!:brick:

It was fun while it lasted!

I bet it would have been easier to search on the web for the fastest ride on Disney. Then again... where is the fun in that!?   :hammer:

IMO I've proven myself over the last 14 years...
So all I'll bring along is my knowhow, expirience and skill, I don't bring the money, I'm the guy who usually spends it and known to be the one with a reputation for missing deadlines and exceeding cost estimates. :D

OH god no.....you guys just ruin our lives. I hate your type telling everyone that the building is art and everything is for the art. Well I am here to tell you, your art won't stand up. you can't have a building made with no steel, wood or concrete....it just isn't going to happen. Architects are bad news. :hurl: :hurl:

In theory that is true, but the suspension would fail and the train would leave the track. But based on motor power alone, they could top out at nearly 120 MPH.
