She dosn't even deserve the $15,000 they offer her now. She's crap. Get rid of her. Good riddence to her. Bring in someone good and a show that's not crap.

And a siging career!

HA! That's a laugh! I've heard dogs that can sing better than she can ever dream to sing like.

This Duff girl is spoiled who thinks she's the best actress/singer in the world. And guess what, SHE'S CRAP. GOD AWFUL.:hurl:

She's just the new hot trend for tweeners right now. There will be someone new coming soon. These trends don't tend to last too long.

It's never the talent. It's always been about the packaging, and Disney's about the best in the business at packaging crap and telling it's the hottest new thing.... :hammer:

(Modern-era Disney, that is....)

Thank God that Eisner and his cronies never butchered the crap out of that Even Stevens kid (Shila Lebouf ... I don't know if I spelled that right)

Disney's about the best in the business at packaging crap and telling it's the hottest new thing....
Unlike ... well, everyone before Eisner's reign!

I personally have never really liked Hillary Duff. I watch the show from time to time and it's okay. I prefer Even Stevens. I feel that Shia Lebouf has alot of potential as an actor and Christy Carlson-Remono has an great singing voice. I would like to see the two of them with great careers. Good Luck to them and GOODBYE Hillary.

When Hillary can bench 350 lbs and put 250 million dollars worth of butts in the seats at theaters then maybe she will be worth more. Until then, good ridance little suzanne summers, say hi to the cast of "the facts of life" when you blow through your money and end up in the poor house.

Hilary Duff

I gotta admit, me and my sister were big fans of the show as well as the movie. However, when I read this article in the Orlando Sentinel over the weekend I thought of a few things. First, I guess Hilary wanted 5 mil because Frankie Muniz got that much for Agent Cody Banks. But, in the sad but true words of my boyfriend, that's what happens when you have your mother do the negotiations for you. I saw an interview of Hilary Duff and they talked about how her mother is a stage mom from hell. I like Hilary Duff's style, and I like the show. But if you think about it, she has nothing to do with the creative contributions of either of those! When I think about my sister and how many girls could act ten times better than her, I realize that it's just a case of a mother thinking her daughter is the best thing in entertainment since, well, Britney Spears? Who knows. Go Disney!

Hilary Duff is a horrible actor, the show is good but i dont really care. I would of liked to see a high school show on abc but i guess that not happening. Hilary is out of her mind for those price demands, i mean look what Disney did for her they made her famous and shes just gonna leave them. Why does Disney and abc have to be so poor. argh

It's not abut Disney being poor, which they are very far from, but Hilary is just getting carried away. Who know's! maybe it's her mom who is behind it all. I think Disney does have the money to pay her that, but they know it's not worth it. I would not pay that girl 100,000 per episode for a dumb show that will barely get ratings.:hammer:

I think Bob Igar was smart to break off talks. The Duff Family was nuts to think they could pull one over on Disney. I mean DIsney aint that stupid!

THe show was ok, i am sure some will be sad to see it go. But even Hiliary seems to be a little brat about it, just look at her lawyer quoting her in the Orlando Sentinel

Duff's lawyer said the actress is "sad about the Lizzie fans being disappointed. She wants to know what Disney will tell them when they hear the show is not returning."

I think they are full of it! I say:

"Don't let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out!"

Disney will be fine, they will find a new brat to replace her soon enough! Then we can all be annoyed by a different person in yet the same style situation comedy for tweens.

Umm...I have a feeling Hillary is not the one behind these decisions. This sounds like a very familiar story. I;m not saying that its the mom's fault, or the dad's fault, or the agent's fault (although, I have a feeling its the agent that usually does this stuff), but I think we should be a little more easy on Hilary, because I can see her working on math homework while her agent is on the phone arguing over a contract deal with someone or other.

Have her agents (or her mom) noticed that the movie grosses fell greatly after the first two weekends (more than most)? I noticed this week that "Holes," which has been out longer, is still pulling in about the same amount of money, and has totaled $60 million, to "Lizzie's" $40 or so million.

Disney seems to be caught up in the glitz, and totally unaware of the success potential of more literate stuff (like "Holes"). With little or no real promotion, compared to the Bonanza of promotion around the "Lizzie" movie, it really means something that "Holes" beats it out.

If they had halfway promoted the "Holes" soundtrack (which was great, with real country-blues), it too would have done better.

My point is, while "Lizzie" is fun and good for something, it is not worth what Miss Duff's mom must think. And Disney can look around and find value in its well-done stuff....

You mention HOLES -- I never even heard of the film until three wks before it was released. And the soundtrack hasn't been promoted at all! Yet, the movie is still performing great.

Now, look at LM: promoted for "months" before its release, yet is fading faster.

This says something, people. And it ain't good.

But I could care less. Eisner & Co can add this to their growning list of idiotic moves.

I saw this thing on Macaulay Culkin last night, and Lizzy's story might end up sounding the same. Kit Culkin (his father) made Macaulay do 9 movies in 5 years, and Macaulay was mad and announced that he was quiting at I think 13 years old. His parents split up when his dad didn't show at the court and dissapeared. I wonder if Lizzy's life will end up like that.

Hillary Duff is like 15 or something ... she's old enough to have control. Macaulay was very young when he was forced into something -- something that he was too young to do anything about.

Also, look at Shia LaBouf (sp?). He won an Emmy for "Even Stevens" and stared in "Holes" which as both of you said continues to out perform Lizzie. I also bet that Holes will perform better in the DVD/VHS sales and rental market.

I also think that Hiliary's mom, while looking for her best interest, is screwing Hiliary's career by pi$$ing off Disney. That kills her chances with Buena Vista Entertainment, Touchstone, Miramax, and possibly some of Disney's affliates, like Brookwell McNamera (sp?) who produces "Even Stevens" for Disney. While that is just my opinion, it could also be a good idea to persure other ventures. But who knows.

I think DIsney was smart in their decision.

I for one am glad that Hillary Duff is finally out of Disney. While I have the respect for her, she still annoys me to no end for some reason. Perhaps (Strike that, probably) because Eisner & Co kept on butchering the crap out of her.

On one hand, Disney makes a good decision: they refuse to pay Duff's high salary, which saves them $$ for future short-term, idiotic endeavors ;). On the other hand, LM was on fire, and I'm sure that in the long-term outlook, Disney could have easily made up for what they paid Duff. The television show ... movies ... books ... CD's ... the upcoming -- upcoming no more, obviously -- clothing line ... we're talking millions upon millions of dollars here

Disney went as far as to offer $4 million for the second movie with a $500,000.00 bonus if the first movie made more than $50 million during theatrical release. Her agent insisted on getting the $500,000.00 regardless of what the first movie made so it could be said that she walked away from a four month job that would have paid her $4 million because of a $500,000.00 disagreement.

As for Frankie Muniz getting $5 million for staring in a sequel, there are a few considerable differences starting with the fact that he is a more accomplished actor having starred in other movies. It is also worth pointing out that the show he stars in is on a big network at primetime on a rather big night for the networks.

Miss Diff on the other hand, is pretty much a nobody to anyone who doesn’t watch the Disney channel. Disney has pretty much created her entire persona and I think that she is probably so attached to the character she has portrayed for Disney that she may have trouble expanding outside of that role as a leading actress

I’m sure she will be able to find work but the question is if it will be in starring roles for the kind of money that someone (her, her parents, her agent?) thinks she is worth. The way I see it, she was worth more to Disney than anyone else in town. As she leaves Disney she also lets go of the name “Lizzie” which is what made her so valuable in the first place. I mean, they tout her upcoming role as one of the kids in the movie “Cheaper by the Dozen” Hmm… that means there are 11 other kids in that movie and the actual stars are the parents. I’m pretty sure she won’t be making $4 million from that one.

Unless this album she is releasing really takes off (and assuming she learns to lip sync better than she did in the WDW Christmas parade) I see her music career going the way of Jennifer Love Hewitt. Does anyone realize that girl has released 3 albums?

In any event, Disney can still go forward with the release of an animated series starring the main character without the young actress and in so doing does away with at lot of the production cost as well as the headache which arises from relying on any single actor to carry it. It also gives them someone who is timeless and can continue to play a never-aging part for as long as the franchise holds value as well as the opportunity to distance Hillary from the part should they decide to replace her for a cheap second movie a few years down the road.

I know that Disney has said that there is no chance of reconciliation but Disney is focused on the bottom line and if there were a big turnaround in the Duff camp, I’m sure there would be a second movie and possibly a new series…

Perhaps Dr. Frankenstein is simply trying to send a message to his monster that it really is a cold cruel world out there beyond the gaits of the Magic Kingdom.
