what they should have done is put the planter bed on wheels so you can move it and lock it anywhere in the park. that way you still have a place to sit and when they need to move it its already to go.

just a thought.

Progress is progress, looking forward to the final product. I'm sure you won't be able to tell for too long that the appearance is off because it will be covered by countless strollers.

Oh yeah, it's just terrible. Oh good lord, no. Not the planter! Those silly colored seats looked sooooo good.*

Guess what guys and gals, there's going to be a lot of temporary "fixes" like this over the next three years. Get used to it.

*This is sarcasm.

How does it look like crap? Aside from the pavement, you can't tell that anything was there. It's just a big open space.

IMO It looks like crap i don't know what you want me to tell you

One more vestige of the Skyway disappears... If I'm not mistaken, that planter was the location of one of the support towers.

Understandable. But it was also this type of thinking that once led to this:

Did you see the castle prior to the 50th? It desperately needed this, and to be honest, most of the so-called "vacation ruining" changes that happened prior to and during the 50th (I'm looking at you Space Mountain) were highly lauded once complete.

IMO, TDO needs to show a little backbone and stop catering to the casual vacationer. If DLR bends to the whim of every Disney nut in a 50 mile radius, WDW should be held to the same standard.

Wait, I don't get what you're implying. These little fixes are bad? This is work that has to be done. Regardless of who likes it or not. Construction walls and scaffolding are going to go up and come down. This expansion can not be simply done in one night as some people here seem to think it should be.

There's a before and then there's an after. Always easy to criticize the process between the two......

When DL rehabbed FL in the early 80's, they pretty much closed down the entire land. I prefer the MK approach, putting isolated areas through rehab, leaving the rest "open" to the public. Can you imagine if the MK closed FL for 1 to 2 years? Besides crushing the spirits of the all those little ones, the rest of the park wouldn't be able to handle the absence of FL attraction capacity. (That's a whole other thread on it's own.)

What did it look like before?

DL's castle? Faded paint mostly, needed to be spruced up a bit. It was covered in tarps because they had to install all the 50th decorations and crowns.
