I only have problems with backstage buildings showing. Im sure thay have it all worked out. Anything else is not a problem.

I mean look At HM back in the day:

Oh wait I see IASW!! AHHH!!! Disney has always done this!!! Oh the humanity!

Why does the HM look so open in that photo? Granted it doesn't have the tarp up for the queue but does that tarp make that much of a difference in the area? Did they add more trees or something in front of it??

I don't want to foam up here, but I'm not really diggin' the transformers on the power line poles, which are behind the walls. I'm assuming these are hidden speakers; Universal uses these in the New York area, and it looks like Carsland will have this, too. One thing to nit-pick on, but they look out of place from where we are right now.

It really does look barren and open! There's also no dock for Tom Sawyer's Island yet in that shot. It helps make the waterway look more open.

Here's a shot from 1972 my fiance's family took. Even less there then!!

It's because that's a very old shot of the HM. The foliage has grown in a lot since then.
Yeah, it's amazing how much the park's plants and trees have really grown over the years.

Not my pic but just a quick one I found to help compare the difference.

Just me? Or does the 2nd Dumbo look like it has a lot of work left? I dont get how its that far behind the other one. I would hope they would try to make sure it's complete by June to help summer crowds. Being in construction and knowing how phases like that can go, i just find that a bit odd.

The Dumbo that is open is new. They assembled it from new parts. The old Dumbo was disassembled and are now (per my understanding) refurbishing the hardware which I'm sure is to strip paint down to bear metal, replace bearings, etc. Once that's done, then they can schedule the reassembly according to other construction priorities at the moment. They should have it reassembled by the time the summer crowds arrive.

Man the mansion needs to remove alot of that foliage and get a paint job to return its exterior to its former beauty!

Over the years, the exterior treatment has been changed to make the mansion appear more ominous. The thicker foliage and aged paint gives it more of an abandoned feel that it didn't have when it first opened.

I worry about this new pathway. It's going to be very difficult to hide the view of the Haunted Mansion from Fantasyland given all that they have removed. I'm sure I should wait until the project is done, but sightlines in general in recent Fantasyland work have left something to be desired.

Well in Tokyo, the similar looking HM is IN Fantasyland...so

I wonder if they are going to cover up the IASW building anymore? Seems like backstage buildings are a constant eyesore for this project

We have to remind ourselves that no part of this project is 100% yet. I saw Dumbo for the first time tonight, and it's apparent that they'll be doing more once the walls are out of the way.

Keep in mind from these vantage points, there will be a mountain in the way as the Seven Dwarfs coaster is built up.

Thanks for the pics!

And the hill behind the new restrooms.

There will be a hill and waterfall behind the new restrooms that will hide HM. Things won't be much different than before when its all done.

Just going by the artists description here, but other than the Mine Train, is Snow White getting some sort of "land" or theme dedicated to it? Just looks like Snow White is going to sort of have a section that re-creates the forest in the woods.

Sorry, I don't follow the expansion a whole lot.

I'm a month older than WDW and we've both filled in. :(
Have you been working on your own expansion or is it just overgrown foliage? :D

The dwarves' cottage will be the focal point/meet-and-greet/mine train entrance of this attraction, surrounded by trees giving the fantasyland forest its name and theme.

Thanks for the pics Scuttle!

There's a picture of a circle area on the ground that they're working on, is this the water play area?

Do we have anymore info on the rest of Storybook Circus... do we know when the water play area, tents, other Dumbo, etc. will open?
