Easter falls pretty late in April this year, so the first week in April may not be as crowded as usual. If there happens to be a day where it's playing twice, go to the second one.

You shouldn't have too much trouble getting a halfway decent seat 30-45 minutes beforehand. But if you want to play it safe, there's another option, which would be to book a Fantasmic Dinner package at Brown Derby, Hollywood and Vine or Mama Melrose's. You're not paying any more for it than you would for dinner usually. The tradeoff is, you're seated earlier than most people would nor ally have dinner, and you get a voucher for special seating, so you worry less about getting there on time.

Fantasmic is a wonderful show that everyone should see at least once! I agree with everyone give yourself time before the show. If there are two shows in one night...go to the first show and show up early, I would say an hour early to be safe.... I would reccomend potty breaks as well. There is snack carts and a food stand once inside so you dont have to leave the area. If you decide on the 2nd show...good luck.... Normally the 2nd show already has a wait because the people from the first show who didn;t get in are already in line, so the line will be long already....I would get in line or start heading that way at 1.5 hrs from show time....

how long does the show last? it starts at 830 according to the Hollywood Studios Calendar. If Magic KIngdom closes at 11 would there be enough time to head over there after the show?

Now that Fantasmic does not run every night, it can be VERY crowded on days when there are shows. I've had accounts of the line heading all the way back to Hollywood Blvd for the SECOND show of the night.

If there is one show, I would suggest being in line minimum one hour before, ideally 1.5 hours. If there are two shows, 45 mins should about do it - but if you want to play it safe, give it at least an hour.

Its approx a 30 min show, with about 30 minutes needed to exit afterwards. So it would be possibly to make it to the MK, but you'll need transportation to co-operate.

I usually like to wait an hour, hour and a half.

We will plan to eat quick service dinner that night, head over and see what the crowd is. If people are starting to line up SUPER early, we will grab some snacks and jump in line. Even once we sit, the boyfriend usually grabs something else from the snack bar and sit and wait.

I don't mind. It's a nice rest from normal crowds and totally worth it to me, it's my favorite show on property of any kind. I would see it more than once per trip if it was every night. But I can't wait that long on more than one night.

Yes you certainly can, I've been told by a certain ex-cast member turned trip coordinator that you can see both Fantasmic! Wishes and IllumiNations all in 1 night.... talk about hectic.

This is indeed true, however is only possible christmas week!

Fantasmic is my old area and so i still pick up shifts quite regulary and i'd recommend that if you plan to go to the 1st show be there no later than an hour before, I have regulary speiled standing room within 30 min of the theatre opening. The show opens for seating 90 mins prior. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GO TO THE SECOND SHOW, you need to be there about 30 min before for a seat unless you want the best seats, then you need to think about getting in line about 60 min before. The line at the end of sunset blvd usually only fills just over half the theatre, and it is rare that the second show goes to standing room unless its peak season.

I agree and the pictures above were pretty representative of the last few times I have looked at Fantasmic! I did make it in there in December but the few trips before that.....not a shot of that happening!!! As the show is limited now, it has generated MUCH longer lines than ever before. It is a great show and definitely worth seeing, but the time has to be built in to allow for it. Marie

we missed the show in 2010 (May/June) because the first show had this kind of line 45 minutes before showtime & a CM said it was full. We decided not to wait for the second show (too late, kids tired, us tired).

we had seen fantasmic before. just get there early!

Do not underestimate the crowd for Fantasmic. It's a WILDLY popular show and exceeds the hype you've probably heard about it.

If you're like us, you like to sit somewhere in the middle about mid-way down. If that's the case, get there AT LEAST an hour+ early. We were just at the World 2 days after Thanksgiving 2010 and saw Fantasmic that following Monday. We go there and hour early and were lucky to get 2 seats center stage about midway down as the middle sections were about 98% full it seems. There were plenty of seats on the sides. But if you like the middle parts of the seating area, get there at least an hour early. To play it safe, plan to get there 1.25 to 1.5 hours early.

But, as I mentioned, do not underestimate the Fantasmic crowd. The good seats go fast. If you're not particular about where you seat, you can arrive a little later. Just a little, because it fills up very fast. Especially since Fantasmic can only be seen twice a week now.

Why did they cut down on the number of shows? Everytime I've been, it's so crowded!!

Last time I went to WDW we did the Fantasmic dinner package at the Brown Derby. Totally worth it!!

Absolutely, I was there in July of this year and even with two showing on the same night (no additional nights though) I can tell you that people were getting shut out of even the second showing and they were less than happy about it. I was waiting by the Tip Board for some friends and I guess I must have looked official as quite a few people came up to me complaining that they couldnt get into the show. I did direct them to the real Guest Relations area to voice their displeasure. It really is important, if you want to catch this show to plan ahead!!!! Marie
