Fantasmic Reopening Watch

True. I guess I just assume 14 shows requires more CMs than 7.

I am not entirely sure on how Fantasmic was cast / rotated in the past, but I have to assume the only way to run the show in any form is to have rotations ready to go.

So perhaps they don't have enough to securely rotate, but it could also just be... cheap?

I imagine 1 show nightly requires 2 casts and 2 nightly requires…3?

Also, they pull cast from elsewhere to staff the amphitheater itself. If the show is at park close, that’s easier to do. Otherwise, you are pulling them with several hours of operation remaining. That’s not trivial. The people who don’t see the show still want Mickey pretzels.

1 cast/crew per day. Doesn't matter how many shows on that day.

Also, there are multiple full casts/crew/performers trained for the show.
But we have heard that those performers also do meet&greets and character dining currently. That seems to be the issue. Hence the fact that some of those are being cut, in order for the two performances to go ahead.

Or this archaic concept where one waits in a first come first served line.
That's one method to meet Demand. Fairest, but not the most efficient.

But this is 2022, people get in virtual queues to skip lines, buy merch, popcorn buckets, get in multiple queues to enter a race, you name it. There's a reason why pre-pandemic F! was split into FP+, Dining Packages, Dessert Packages and standby before.

To have it all be on Standby until the dining packages eat slots would be an interesting change and put a real burden on parents with young kids.

The reason was money. Disney made money doing those things. Having people book a FP+ for it saved them time elsewhere to spend money. Dining packages and parties made them money as well.

To have it standby for a couple weeks would not be burden and would not be a change. They offered standby before. There is going to need to be a bit of a test and adjust period. Will this be offered by Genie+? Probably but maybe not initially. I don't see a major concern there. This isn't a new show, they know how to crowd control it.
