Fantasmic! Question.

I have only seen one Fantasmic! show and it was MGM's at WDW. In all of the promotional banners and stuff they show Mickey and the dragon, but the dragon I saw was a lot different. I was wondering if there are two types of shows?!?! The dragon that I saw was not like the one in the promo's cause it didn't rise from behind the mountain. In the pictures, the dragon is huge and it comes from behind the mountain. What I saw was a dragon that sat on the mountain and you could see all of it's body, in the picutres you can only see it's neck, tail, and wings (I think) but I know that you can't see all of it's body in the promo's. If someone could help me with this I would really appreciate it!:D

Fantasmic only runs one kind of dragon. It comes from the front, and never from the back. Promo's are always not exact. :)

Hope I helped you.

When Disney made the Fantasmic! show, they found out that the dragon used in the show, didn't have the right shape to be taken pictures of. That is why the Disney Company made a new version on the promo :animwink:

There is only one dragon. My best analogy is to look at a Carl's Jr. or McDonald's commercial. Oh yeah, that Big Mac looks amazing when it's on TV, the same goes for the 6 Dollar Burgers. But when you order one in real life, well... It just is nowhere near the same thing.

If Disney advertised Fantasmic! with film of the actual dragon used in the show, it would be a lot less impressive than what they've acheived with their CGI version. Word on the street is that Disneyland's dragon is about to become a lot more high tech and involved when the show reopens, but that's still a week away.

Yeah, you might have seen promos for the DL dragon, rumored to appear this Thursday/Friday if all goes well. WDW isn't getting this new dragon anytime soon, unfortunately.

Tis' a shame really. Disneyland gets amazing updates every few years, or even months, while Walt Disney World's just seems to always get side-lined and fall flat.

Oh well, one day, it's gonna happen.
