I'm looking into the Fantasmic Dining Package for dinner at Hollywood & Vine, it apparaent'y works with the Dining Plan and is only 1 table service point, so I think it sounds like a good deal... is it worth it?

My family did this just a few weeks ago at the Hollywood & Vine, though we weren't on the dining plan. We had a good time, as everything else at WDW it was expensive, valuewise. We thought the food and service was good and not having to wait in line for entry to Fantasmic was worth it.

We did the package in May of '04 and have an ADR for this December as well. Needless to say, we think it is worth it. Yes, it is noisy and kind of crowded at H&V, but no more so than the rest of the parks! :animwink:

This time around, we will have the two-year old, so it is an even bigger bonus for us--she eats free!

The seats for Fantasmic are not the greatest--off to the right side, not center--but still a good view and not having to wait in line is definitely worth it. Still have to arrive a bit early for a seat, but not as early as those without a ticket. Just enough time for them to try to sell you hats, light up bracelets, necklaces or anything else that they can stick a cheap battery in to light it up and make it glow.

Go for it--you'll be glad you did!

The package is well worth it. I have always done it that way, and the first time it happened by mistake. I was at one of the 3 restaurants that offer the package and they offered it to my wife and I. The 3 restaurants that offer the Fantasmic Package at MGM are:

*Mama Melrose
*Hollywood & Vine
*50's Prime Time Cafe`

We do it everytime we go, and Hollywood & Vine is our favorite restaurant at MGM!!

50's? Really? I thought it was Mama, H&V & Brown Derby only. When did that happen?

Is the reserved seating section in the front or back on the right hand side? I can see both but just wondering...

Anytime we plan on going to see Fantasmic, we always get the Dining Package for dinner at Hollywood & Vine. We already have our reservations for September made.

The reserved seating is on the right hand side, the entire section I believe. I have been able to sit in the first few rows without any problems everytime for the past several years.

The Fantasmic package is well worth it. What an AWESOME show! We ate at Hollywood and Vine in January, it was just OK. Family members ate at Mama Melrose and raved about it.

Enjoy the show, if you haven't seen it, you're going to love it!!:)

50s was not included as of April 2007 (Easter weekend)

Brown Derby, Hollywood and Vine and Mama Melrose.

We did the package and ate at H&V was great

We did it in October '05, and we're booked for it again in October '07. My kids loved the H&V buffet, and I thought it had pretty good selection. The main reason we do it is to cut our wait time for Fantasmic, of course, but the buffet is a pretty good value, too. I think it's a "win-win!"

Occasionally 50's Prime Time and I believe Sci Fi Drive-In are included during busy times of the year. Mostly seen when multiple showings of Fantasmic happen.

A lot of times when people address me they add something like "Hey, Mr.Bill" or "Wild Bill" or Bill-bo-baggins" etc. I was reminded of that one Stooges episode when they played cowboys all named Bill. I think Moe was Buffalo Bill and Curly was Wild Bill Hickock and Larry was "Just Plain Bill." I thought it was a great bit, so I use it all the time. The stooges are great!:hammer:

I'm becoming more and more concerned with the seeming seating arrangments for the Dinner Package Participants... The extreme right does not seem favorable to me, but if he view is "great" as some have said versus the others who said it was "horrible"... what is the most common experience for all of you?

YES!!!
We did the Fantasmic Pkg. last summer w/ H&V & are doing the same in Sept.
It really helps you to get into the Fantasmic show more quickly.
