“Are you ready for exciting news? Well, the Disney Parks Blog team and our excellent group of writers (who actually write for us) sure do have a special treat to share today!
Our readers know what a long and strenuous season the last 2 years have been, yet we all have persevered and continued on making magic in the way only our beloved company can. What a season it’s been! From debuting Genie+, adding our park pass reservation system and cutting Magical Express, we know how to do it right! We’ve all celebrated these successes and that goes for our guests who love these new additions and adaptations!
So, to the big news! Starting April 18th we are excited to announce that Disney pals will now be available for in person photos and autographs! This has been our biggest request of late and despite our CEO’s never ending orders to milk it for as long as possible, we’ve been forced into returning a much beloved part of the Disney Parks experience. So get those autograph books purchased and ready!
And don’t forget, you can use Genie+ to book several meet and greets locations throughout our property. Just don’t expect to use it for more than 3 or 4 experiences!
Our Disney pals can’t wait to meet you in person again! In preparation of this exciting announcement , please adjust your expectations as long lines will reign supreme! It’s been pretty standard since Genie+ started, but that’s not the point. Nonetheless, what exciting times we have ahead!

April seemed...ambitious, especially given that they haven't started rehearsals yet. I would imagine they'd want it up and running this summer, so perhaps early June.

Not totally defending them, but every time they used info from here they would actually ref/cite WDWMagic and link the forum, unlike the site that shall not be named..
Weird situation overall, however.
Yeah I'm sure BlogMickey has their own source on this one - he's a good guy. Things change all the time, so we'll see. Maybe they will be right.

I don’t know why I was told April. It certainly doesn’t seem possible now. Maybe it was an option many months ago.
LOL I think at some point almost everything has been on the table.

FWIW he’s standing by his story, seemingly. He hasn’t deleted or updated the tweet. He’s also not one to post something completely erroneous.
The timeline, like I said earlier, seems very ambitious, but I guess we’ll see.

The Celebration word does bring a friendly reminder that would it be nice to get the original shows back at Festival of the Lion King, Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage and more performers for Festival of Fantasy (some were cut to due to distancing).
