My choices were character attendant, attractions, photopass, and FSFB (in that order). I got attractions, my second choice.

When I talked to the woman on the phone earlier today she told me flat out not to look into the photopass at all that they were downsizing that department.

I am a business finance major and I did swimming for four years in high school. I did life guarding as my #1. :)

I didn't get accepted but I put Character Attendant,Attractions, and Transportation as my top three. I also put Merchandise which I probably would have gotten because I have a lot of retail experience. They put you where they need you the most and where they think you will do best at.

I'd love to know more on how the pick from the selection process...

I checked a lot of the fields they had so I'd be curious if I do not get accepted.

Heh, I never expected to get photopass (or FSFB). I just put them down because I knew I would enjoy them, if for some crazy reason I got one of them.

i went to the campus presentation today and my interview is set up for saturday, i hope it goes well, im usually good at talking to people, i work retail at a certain "baby" store affiliated with a certain toy store we all know an love, i think it will really help with the idea of interacting with the guests, while im usually sort of on the shy side i have the ability to be VERY outgoing when i am put out of my element, i really want to be a character, i love the idea of seeing the smiles on the faces of all the guests, my fiance has also applied, i regret that i waited this long to even look more into it than just a thought, but i am puting off graduation to do this (im a senior with 115 hours:brick:), i did have a couple questions though:

did anyone have a committed relationship going into this? how did it work out?

does anyone know the acceptance "rate"?

how did you deal with not being able to see your family for holidays? (mainly talking about the fall CP):veryconfu

Considering I went down with a BF and came back without one I wouldn't be the person to ask. But the thing is I would've broken up with eventually so going on the program didn't really make a huge difference.

I don't know the actual acceptance rate but I know more and more people are applying every year.

Most areas have a lot of CPs so they try to make the holidays special. My area managers supplied turkey or ham and all the CMs would bring in side dishes for Christmas and Thanksgiving. Also, you get a great room discount so maybe that could help your family come visit. I had so much fun working Christmas that when my family and I went down Christmas day this past year I actually wished I was working with my friends again.

Good Luck!

I have a quick question. I received a letter in the mail saying they were reviewing my application and I would here back from them by April 17th. I was just wondering if anyone else got the same letter or if anyone knows what that exactly means. Is it a waitlist? Thanks!

Worried

I am a little worried. I thought my phone interview went well based on the questions the interviewer asked, but im not sure if they were reallythough provoking or intersting questions. Im not reallysure if they got to knowwho I am or what Im about through the really short interview.

I also only signed up for only one role, but I think its really in the best interest of disney and myself for me to be in a place where my skills can be used to their highest potential.

Oh well, The wait is on, i suppose

I think their interview questions are good because they deal with issues you face while at work and on the program. They have interviewed so many people since the CP started that they know what to ask. Maybe they didn't ask you as much since you only chose one role. I think that would be more likely the reason you wouldn't get accepted. My rep team tells students to check all the ones you would accept and that the more you check the better chance you have. What role was the one you checked?

What questions do they ask in the interview?
Can you request a park to work? Or even a certain area of a park?

The questions range from personal questions (like "why do you want to do the CP?") to questions about the roles you pick.

You can. There are no guarantees. But it doesn't hurt to ask.
