ALERT!
There have been a number of occurrences, on Facebook, where fake accounts for Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and others have popped up with contests and fake coupons. Recently I had a friend of mine fall for one, which is this: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=703304049807972&id=452523964885983

The text of the post was as follows:
Whisked a loved one away by winning a Disney World vacation worth $5,000, Simply share this post then go here: http://disneysvacations.com/?enter for a chance to win! Winners will be notified, like our page for updates
This is not a legitimate post at ALL! It is more than likely a phishing expedition or a fraud. If you see one of Facebook, don't fall for it.
Anyone else fall for one of these scams or have seen them before?

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
This is nothing new and has been happening for a long time! I constantly tell people to not share because such and such is fake about WDW or other things and they never listen and share anyway. Lol :banghead::bookworm:

I've seen them and just shake my head. Its usually a photo of a bunch of packed brown boxes just sitting on an office floor, no markings, graphics or anything. Looks like someone was packing up to move apartments...there was even an empty box folded up in the back and a random outlet plug on the dirty wall.

As a designer I just look at it and say "would disney...the most magical place on earth, with artistic standards on everything down to the resort door hangers, EVER let something like this get seen and mailed to guests?"

But its sad reading some of the comments of these people hoping to win one of these so they can finally take their grand kids or even a just have a vacation...its heart breaking knowing that it is just a scam.

One of my old pastors, who now lives near Disneyland, posted a picture of the offer on Facebook. I warned him against it, because the headline advertises Disneyland admission, but below that are blurbs on the four parks of Walt Disney World. Some other people warned him, too. Fortunately, he realized in time that it was fishy.

I saw one yesterday that said that "a family of ten had just cancelled, and as a gesture of goodwill, Disney is giving away the trip for free." Of course the FB account name was simply Disney World, and not Walt Disney World Resort or something more official sounding. I scrolled through the account's recent postings, and all that was there were a couple of stock images of the castle and some balloons. People are just too oblivious and not aware/not thinking about what official social media accounts would entail.
