^ JT,that has to be your best post.

Thanks.

I agree with the idea that if they ever convert TL at WDW to Sci-Fi City (and I think they should), then EO would work there. But to reinstall it at Future World  well it would be just another obstacle to getting Future World back on track.

The entire idea of EO coming back to Epcot just makes me cringe. Literally. And then this :hurl:.

It's always been mite Sci-Fi than realistic. Even 1955 TL. EPCOT'S FW is about the future that is realistic and emerging, cutting edge technologies.

Let me guess, you want progress by June?:lookaroun

Also, EO fits better in TL than EPCOT. TL is more of a Sci-Fi theme,FW is supposed to be a realistic future,EO is bit.
Of course! June is a great month!

You complain about Nemo and praise this?

If you want to trace the demise of what was Future World look no further than the installation of EO.

You just lost about 20 spots on the EPCOT Center Purists Credibility Meter.

I'm the last one standing I think.
I praise this just because it's them acknowledging some park history in retrospective way. Not for thematics. In that respect, this clashes horribly. But a historian does not care about that.

(unless said instillation is in the museum too long) :lookaroun

And who said anything about counting? :lol:If it's just 20, I'm pretty sure that my past record of 3 years of EPCOT posts are fine.

Well, while we are bringing back things that never fit,we should bring back the circus they had over FoN.

Timey-wimey?

well the "war influenced" time lords did almost destroy all matter by ripping time apart so they would become like the ancients in star gate, only the doctor destroyed the item bringing them out of the time lock, and the master sacrificed himself to protect the doctor  /sci-fi nerd

I am at least Jester to the Royal Court of EPCOT Center Purist Fanbois (if not Secretary-General Emeritus) and I proclaim Evan is neither poseur nor pretender.

Thank you, your VP appreciates this. :lookaroun:lol:

Probably just something meaningless, but back on the 2nd, there was this structuring work in the Wonder parking lot at EPCOT.

Strange was that amount of steel structures littered all around.

Like I said, probably nothing, but just curious.

Oh, and that sign discussed above is at the EPCOT Monorail entrance. Found it out when I was scanning my pics.

Maybe for the ongoing construction/deconstruction work in WS?

Or...please...Innoventions? :D

I was there on the 4th-6th, and I saw some bleachers set up in the parking area. Not sure if it was Wonder, I don't know the EPCOT parking areas by heart (there goes my EPCOT geek cred, I know) but it was northeast of the main entrance.

Also, all last week EPCOT was swarming with nametag-wearing Advance Auto Parts employees. Does anyone know what was up with that? They're a bit too small a company to be a new sponsor, I'd think (although at least they haven't declared bankruptcy, unlike a certain other transportation-related EPCOT sponsor).

The construction in the parking lot was for the marathon that was run this weekend. The finish line, I believe, was in the EPCOT parking lot. I saw some heavy machinery working on the finish line when I left EPCOT around 11 PM late last week. Some of it may have been heading into WS, but I don't think it was.

As for the Advance Auto Parts people, they have a big conference in Orlando this time of year. Last year it was held at the Orlando World Center Mariott (overlapping with the AIAA conference that I was attending), but this year I think they held their conference on Disney property. I didn't see any of them at the Mariott this year during the end of my conference, only on property each evening after I was done at my conference. Not a new sponsor, just a lot of autoparts workers here to discuss the future of autoparts. Holding conferences and conventions at WDW definitely has its perks. My father's company did so several years back and was given tickets for each day the convention was happening.

I have so say, my favorite thing was seeing a bunch of large, burley autoparts guys in The Land, having dinner, talking about how excited they were to ride Soarin.

It' OK, I don't know all the lots either.

Well, that does make sense. Thanks for the info...

Let's see... there's Create, Amaze, Imagine, Discover, Journey, Wonder and...? :veryconfu

And as far as location... I do not know. I know they used to be named more for the pavilions rather than the "creation" catchphrases they are now. Create and Amaze are up front, right, with Discover and Imagine on the other side of the drainage canal? And then Wonder is way off the along the side with Journey, but that's about all the knowledge I have on Epcot's parking lot and I don't even know if its right.
