Eyes on EPCOT Center

Not seeing it...Epcot "Overgrown" is still clean and cut enough for Epcot.

Any less and Epcot would be stark and dry.

Project Gemini = Too Much

Removing trees in the hub at Magic Kingdom =
Too Sparse

The Land = Just Right

Let the trees grow.

We are looking at two different parks, I swear.

Hub looked fine in Aug. Not OVERLY lush, like it used to, but it was fine. Nice and lush, but manicured.

Land? Eww...Scraggly trees don't cut it.

So good to see changes in our beloved EPCOT. I hope to visit next weekend for some more FAWF - this weekend would have been perfect with the cooler weather, though. :king:

Seriously?

I have to disagree...you can barely see the pavilion there's so many trees in front.

This used to be what the entrance looked like:

Now it looks like this:

I can understand having trees that can grow "naturally" around the back of the pavilion, but not right in front, where it blocks the view of the pavilion

I never did like the previous entrance ramp to The Land. A strip of concrete with a few palm trees in the middle? Nah, I'll take the woodsey, natural feel of the trees and rock stream we have now. Sure, it could be cut back a bit here and there, but overall, I like the way it currently is landscaped.

I agree here. The Land is well done and the trees are part of the theme. However Energy looks like everyday Florida scrub and neglected landscaping. Seems to me The Land's natural feel should be more the exception to the rule in Future World which generally works best with a kind of "corporate campus" vibe. IMO.

I'm not a fan of the front of the Land being hidden by all the foliage.

Did Disney remove the smaller glass dome that used to be out front because the trees started to grow through it?

That I agree with. The Land works with the scrubby feel. But yes, the rest of Epcot should be relatively organized, pristine, and trim when it comes to foliage.

Agreed, but they should keep it lush, highly packed and blooming. It just looks like a mess, now.:dazzle:

That dome had an open top.

These are the only two pics I could find of the dome but it doesn't look like there is a hole at the top.

I personally like that you go through the trees. It is "The Land" after all.
