Okay, I'm hoping that some of you on here will be able to help me out with this! I've never used eyelets before (which now that I think about it is kind of odd...it seems like everyone uses them on layouts I see here and other places) but I've been really wanting to use them in my layouts. I bought a kit and a few eyelets at a craft store yesterday and well...I just can't figure it out! If anyone could please help me out I would really appreciate it, I can't see it being as hard as it seems to be!

Oh, and if it helps any I bought this kit http://store.scrapbook.com/mm-29056.html

Thanks again everyone! :)

stephdanielle-
i've never used the particular kit you got, but here's how i use eyelets. i use a hole punch to make a hole where i want the eyelet (they make hole punches that are the size of an eyelet, not a regular office hole punch...maybe there is one in your kit, i forget.) anyway, then you place the eyelet in the hole, flip the paper over and place the setting tool. i think your kit calls it the base and tips. mine doesn't have different tips, but basically you place the head of the tool on the eyelet back, then pound the other end of the tool with the hammer. put it on top of a mat of some sort (i use a cm self-healing cutting mat) as a base, so you don't damage your table or whatever surface you're using. it takes a couple of good whacks sometimes, but this should work. hope this helps. eyelets really add a certain something to a page.

Yep, with the kit you bought, choose the right size of black magnetic tip for the eyelet you want to set (should be about the same size as the eyelet). Put the tip in the base tool, put it down on your paper, then tap with your hammer. This should create the hole in the paper. Once you have the hole place the eyelet through the hole and turn the paper over. From what I can tell of your kit, you then remove the magnetic tip, flip the tool over, and place the setting end on the eyelet. Then use your hammer again and give a few solid hits. This should bend down the edges of the eyelet to lock it into place. I'd often tap the hammer directly on the eyelet edges once they're mostly turned down just to make sure it was locked down all the way. Don't forget to use the 4x4 setting mat in your kit underneath the whole time so you don't damage your table during the process. Have fun!

Thanks so much guys, you were so helpful! Believe it or not, my boyfriend was the one that was able to do it much better than I was, not that he was too impressed with that! lol
I have a feeling I'm going to have a lot of pages with eyelets soon, they really do just add something different to the page..love them! :) Any ideas or tips on how to use them?

They're great for running ribbon through, but I often just use them as decoration to hold something in place.

Describing how to do something always takes longer than actually doing it. They really aren't complicated or time consuming to do at all. Jenn, have we not included eyelets on a challenge yet?

Actually we did have one on a challenge, and I pretended that I didn't read that part. :lookaroun

I guess I'll have to wait until one of you can show me how easy they are to use. :p
