I was just watching the show tonight and have noticed a lot of the time they send the families to WDW, Just were wondering if they ever see the show crew's around the park? I think this show is a great thing that they are doing and I’m glad to see Disney thinks so also.

On a side note I wonder if whatever deptment that handles the details of the families trips from the T.V show can help the mother of 5 that is sick (she was mentioned in another thread).

Just so you know. Disney owns the ABC television network and therefore theyalso own the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition show. This is why many of the families are sent to WDW.

My wife and I went on the 3-day cruise a few weeks ago and there was a crew on board the ship filming for Extreme Makeover - Home Edition. They also flew in to Castaway Cay via helicopter (we watched it land) shortly after we docked there. A couple of the activity girls were escorting the children that were being filmed around. No word on when the episode would air, though.

Yeah, last night when the family with the sextuplets was sitting on the couch in Mickey's house, with Minnie and Mickey, I was so disappointed when they cut back to Ty and the home site! I wanted to see more of the family at Disney! And oh how I wished they'd have paid for another set of adults to tag along, because frankly WDW with six two year olds doesn't sound particularly fun to me!!

This was the first time I saw so many cross over plugs on the show. Usally they plug either WDW or DL or Disney Cruise, and maybe a country music star, but this time they had Ringling Bros Circus, Flornce Henderson AND the Mupperts. I understand the Muppet tie in (Muppert Wizard Of OZ) but Flo and Ringling Bros Confused me. lol

From an advertisers perspective, this show is great! Ringling brothers pays the show some money, has some of their staff highlighted and gets what amounts to a very cheap commercial. If you notice as they go through the house during construction and when finished, they focus in on the various product names...Silent Floor is one I remember, various construction materials, of course there is the builder and Sears, Motrin sponsored a years' worth of nanny service, Ford has previously given cars, and there will be more. Of course Disney/ABC gets great promotion, and I was glad to see the muppets make an appearance to remind people of them. My 9 year old loved their appearance...and of course the commercial for Oz.

I am all for this blatant commercialism as it is a win-win...ultimately the families make out great.

Maybe I'm an advertiser's dream, but I want to know which companies support the program because I want to support them...they all do such a great thing by helping these families out.

Also, if you see anything you like and didn't get the name on TV, you can go to the website and they provide a full list of materials contributors. (Better than a trip to Home Depot or Lowe's)

I would bet that there were extra adults supplied by Disney and we just didn't see it. I know Disney supplies VIP tour guides for these families that are with them all day in the parks. For last year's season finale (the one with all the kids who had lost both parents within a couple of weeks of each other) they had two tour guides with them all day. I would bet that for this particular family they may have thrown in an extra or two. Don't know that for sure, of course, but it would make sense.

Well that's good to know. I was just thinking it would be nice if the guests who got to go along were people who were family/friends of the family, who have probably helped out a lot over the past couple of years!
