Extra 2 days... What to do?

My DH pleasantly surprised me the other day by suggesting that we add two days onto our Nov. trip to get the free dining. Unfortunately, we need to switch our resort from POR (which I love) to CSR (which I have never stayed at before), but I am willing to give CSR a try if it means 2 extra days at Disney. We already have our itinerary and ADRs for the original 9day, 8 night trip figured out and booked. I am contemplating what to do with the 2 extra days. We only want to add one more park day for fear that DH will get burned out (as if that is possible) and we don't want to add a large cost to the trip (like Sea World). I should also add that we have 2 DDs (age 11 and 8). Any recommendations?

Have you included the water parks yet? They are a lot of fun. Also, shopping at DTD, DisneyQuest could both be fun options. Resort hopping is a great one too. Also, if you are adding one park day, maybe include one of the special tours?

Resort hopping is a great way to kill a day, you get to explore and check out the other resorts potentially seeing which you may want to stay at next, as well as eating at a resort restaurant that you otherwise may not have.

Take the extra days. Stay at CSR which have bigger beds and wonderful property. Go mini golfing and see the other resorts or spend a day boating or bicycling around the properties. Spend a day relaxing at your resort. Lots to do besides just parks!

Depends what your itinerary is already. Maybe if you tell us your park and/or special event schedule, we can give you some ideas.
We currently are doing 2 MK days, 2 Epcot days, 1 AK day, and 1 HS Day. We spend another day visiting family in the area. We spend our arrival and departure days relaxing at our resort. With one of our extra days, we are adding another day at HS. We are trying to conserve costs because the whole point of adding the two days and switching resorts is to save money with the free dining. I have never spent this much time (11 days, 10 nights) at WDW before without going off property. I can't believe that I am at a loss as to what to do. I like the idea of resort hopping or DTD (which we haven't gotten to for a while).

You could rent a boat from one of the marinas and cruise around, relatively cost effective. You could take your time exploring DTD. In the evenings you plan a dinner for ohana or kona and then go out to the beach and have s'mores and watch a Disney movie. At 9 the water parade will o by and then just wait and watch wishes from the beach.

I'm not sure if you are adding extra days to your trip to catch the November 2nd cut off or the November 23rd cut off, but if it's the earlier one, you could add some extra time at the Food & Wine Festival. For the later one you could add MVMCP (although that involves costs which you are trying to avoid); or check out resort holiday decorations or maybe go for a sleigh ride at Fort Wilderness. Either way, you could spend time exploring the Boardwalk - street performers, shopping, snacks, etc. Downtown Disney offers bowling. There's also golfing, bicycling, relaxing by the pools, and even horseback riding. Maybe take a sleep late day to recoup from a late night at the parks (something our family never has the luxury of time to do)!

What about taking a day off to hit the outlet malls? On our 1st visit to Orlando a couple years ago, we spent an extra day shopping at the 2 outlet malls and a couple of flea markets. When were at this one flea market, we watched a helicopter land nearby so we went to check it out. Turns out that it was a sight seeing helicopter service, so we did it and go to fly over Seaworld and nice chunk of Disney. Granted it was a bit pricey, but it was a great way to start our trip. Now whenever I see that helicopter above the World Showcase, I think about our 1st trip down.

I love to explore all the resorts, mini golf is fun, a water park option is good. Also, I am not sure of the dates you are going but if MVMCP is going on, you can skip the park during the day and buy the tix to the party instead. Take a surrey bike ride at the Boardwalk. Or check out Fort Wilderness and the activities there! You can go on a hunt for special things - like watching the geyser blow at WL.
