Still going after this site and those who run it? Can’t imagine why a brand new member would do that....
The longer this plays out the more I an inclined to believe that TWDC was never the intended target. The article may or may not be completely true (like most Spirit posts of the past it seems to be truth wrapped in personal grudge), but with recent new member posts it feels like outing Lutz, TP2000, Micechat and specific (yet oddly not directly named) WDWMagic members was the main objective. Beats me what the point of doing that is but I can't imagine this will actually impact leadership at TWDC.

Why isn't anyone looking at external forces? The timing makes all of this suspect.

epcotexplorer once called spirit michael. I thought he was joking and meant Eisner. 😆

Not sure I believe the rumor though. Pretty sure spirit is from Florida. But the possibility of a CBS connection is the stuff of novels.

IMO

Basic, logical assumptions would lead us to conclude that these attacks had to be done by someone with a (petty) grudge, someone who feels threatened, someone who has backed into a corner, and/or someone who would benefit from a fracture in these fan communities. So who would fit those descriptions?

Build rides. Not this “immersive worlds” nonsense. In the meantime try to get as much of their money back as they can.

12 acres in Anaheim is an outrageous waste of space. Coulda been three mini lands with different themes + smaller Batuu with the Resistance ride.

Yes. It’s so simple. Build rides. But Disney mgmt. can’t grasp this simplistic concept. See the Italy and Morocco pavilions for historic examples of wasted immersive environments, and we all know that New Fantasyland was devoid of rides until 7DMT was taken from the Asian parks and shoehorned in at the last minute.

Theming is vitally important, as without it Disney would just be another Six Flags. But theming is meant to be a background element, not the foreground superstar. Etickets are great but they don’t even have to be that. Look at Grand Fiesta Tour...people love it! People just want to be on a ride!

It want be long before rides go away and we are paying $100+ a day for the right to buy overpriced merch and food along with a crappy show.

The fan community wasn't the target IMO. The purpose all summer has been to artificially create chaos in twdc. Again my opinion. But I have seen this building all summer. It clearly seems coordinated.

Keep on preaching. This is my favorite(and one of the few I can understand) post in this otherwise National Enquirer like thread.

I'm not sure I can buy that their has been a company supported effort to infiltrate the fan base to the degree claimed but I could buy that someone (s) with motivation, good or bad, within the company went rogue. I also wouldn't be surprised if this was all nothing more than internet drama.

Eh, not sure why anyone would be surprised by this.

For me, its business as usual. We have some incredible insiders here who time after time have not only been correct but class acts to boot. I think if you been on these boards for more than a year, you know who you can trust and you can tell trolls from influencers etc.

I agree with this to a point. I'm not sure we can tell who the influencers and trolls are....How can we delineate honest opinions from those who are doing it for some external gain (like employment or promotion)? Sometimes, the opinion you are trying to create will be held by other fans, so you may not even have to piggyback on it. If your jobs are specific enough (like talk up Avland or sell people on RFID chips on sodas), then you can also make some unrelated posts. Maybe even have a "gloom and doomer" opinion if you're supposed to be a "pixie duster". Play the long game. I would bet if you were bad at it, you wouldn't last long...but if you're good, we'd have a lot of trouble discerning. I 100% agree that this board has the best insiders, but I don't think any of them fall into the category we're talking about.

If the rumors about who spirit is are true it opens a whole other can of worms. Not sure I believe it at all. But a denial should be requested. Big league issues at stake.

John Carter and Dark Phoenix flopped? Blame the marketing departments instead of admitting the stories and acting were subpar.
John Carter was legit a good movie that was a victim of poor marketing though. A mix of Hollywood's weird insistence that the word "Mars" in your title is a curse and Andrew Stanton mistaking the vast influence of the Barsoom books on science and science fiction as mainstream popularity.

It was okay, but as evidenced by its Metacritic score of 51, it had more problems than a marketing campaign. I remember word-of-mouth being mediocre too.

You’re absolutely right about the Mars and Stanton facts. And if you’ve tried reading the books, you quickly find that Carter — like the Tarzan series — tends to tell the same story over and over and over. Burroughs was one of the first authors to successfully exploit his creations through books, comics, etc.
