Correct. It's far better since he's left.

Give me insiders who can actually communicate like civilized human beings.
Well you might not like his tone but when you get to the meat of what he was saying it was always very good. Granted I didn't love his politics and often he would get off course. But he was a good read and someone I could relate to in terms of his views of Disney and the way it was being run.

... but the whole association between zenia and Lutz?

If a savvy power-player like Zenia wanted to leak off-the-record info to the media with the goal of getting Michael out and Bob in, she would've picked reporters at major mainstream publications and TV outlets that the BoD would be likely to notice. She wouldn't have wasted time with and given the advantage of exclusivity to a fan geek (and I call Al that with all love and respect).

Another laughable thing about Snyder's yarn is how it ignores the reality that Al wouldn't have needed Zenia to write what he wrote during the Save Disney campaign. Be it at Burbank, Glendale, Anaheim or Orlando, there were literally thousands of longtime employees and management up and down the ladder who couldn't stand Eisner -- particularly after Frank died -- and had no problem talking out of school. "Loose lips" was S.O.P. inside the Company and out. Roy was getting an earful as well.

"based on a statement from a biased source of mine that had advance knowledge of this article."

For clarity, are you saying you have a source inside TWDC that knew this article was going to be published?
Simply put, no. While I do not wish to explain how some of my sources or friends receive information, this particular source acted as an aggregator from a variety of sources in and out of TWDC. One of the people that he aggregated from, and passed along to me, was tied to the publishing of this article.

Sorry but the reality was a bit more nuanced than what you are describing. Lutz had become a big thorn in the side of Disney towards the end of Eisner's reign. It had gotten to the point where major media outlets were quoting him, from WSJ to NYT. That bugged Disney to no end. With the Save Disney campaign offering his platform a lot of visibility to the shareholders, he became the perfect vessel becoming the "official" critic of the company. By strategically putting the blame on Eisner and his "team," they kept it off Bob.

The reality is that Mucha had a million other things going on and still had responsibilities to the Company and to Eisner, as she reported to him directly. This likely wasn't her focus, it was just one of many side projects.

Everybody knew Lutz was getting detailed, insider-y information. The fact he was basically repackaging what he was given should not surprise anyone.

No role in TWDC that I've seen. He's a member of the Redstone family, which controls Viacom/CBS. Example of his role in that drama: https://www.thewrap.com/viacom-powe...er-explains-whos-really-in-charge-guest-blog/

We're coming into an age of intense competition for streaming media $$, and Viacom/CBS just merged to try to to compete with Disney. I don't know how conversations on Disney Fan sites came to be so important, but it certainly makes things interesting.

So, we have one or both of the cousins to the CBS/Viacom /Paramount moguls severely criticizing Disney, a rival media company, publicly. And doing so as a self-proclaimed Disney insider without revealing their ties to a competitor.

Sounds like a classic case of conflict of interests. If ""Spirit""has any stock in CBS, I'm sure the SEC would like to know about it.

It's obvious the MiceChat guys were idiotic in their response.

But WDW1974 being "brilliant"? Meh. He has always struck me as a person who thinks he's the smartest person in the room but believes his own hype too much. He obviously has some connections and "knows people" - but he also has a significant axe to grind and tunnel vision about being "right". While I'm confident the article has some element of truth, I'm not really putting too much stock on all the details being correct (especially if he is wrong about @TP2000 and his identity). Time and again, he's been shown to not understand the difference between his "opinion" and "truth".
WDW1974 has always been an excellent writer. He uses that expert skill to sway the hearts and minds of his fan base. Clearly, most of his writing is designed to influence his minions and he has always found a very receptive audience on various Disney forums. He provides just enough "inside" information to establish some credibility and he then tells his readers about the story in a narrative that is a hit job. He has a long history of this behavior.

I have always been greatly entertained by his posts. However, I always know that he plays fast and loose with the truth. He's a true con artist and the fact that he has such a devoted fan club is a testament to his workmanship. I'm sure a tidy profit could be made from selling WDW1974 pins, buttons, baseball caps, t-shirts and bobble-heads.

Just a quick question based on Medium being a self published site. Since this whole thing is about ghost writers using popular online names, we’re sure this is Gary Snyder. He confirmed this somewhere? I don’t follow him on social media. Just seems weird that someone would do this if he was so easily outed/refuted.
