Hey looks Swank now.
This will do forever. The mountain will never be completed...it isn't necessary. The painted wall proves it!imagineer boy said:MUCH better. I'd still perfer a complete mountain, but this will do for now.

wannab@dis said:No, it means the complainers should give them time to get things done.
No, there was no way they would spend the money to FINISH the MOUNTAIN. Painting it and letting the trees grow is what most felt they should do. Most of the "whiners" wanted it completely rocked and finished.dxwwf3 said:I completely disagree. There were some that were very vocal in making fun of people who thought Disney should do something to make that area look better. They said that there was no way Disney would spend money to try and fix something that didn't even matter. Well, evidently, it did matter to Disney.
The "complainers" win this one
BTW, I was indifferent on this issue. I didn't think Disney HAD to do anything to the building, but now that I have seen that picture, it makes a big difference.
They've been losing alot lately, yet they keep on doing it...:brick:wannab@dis said:The complainers didn't get what they wanted so they didn't win.

Now it looks like an abstract geometrical plain.
colliera said:It looks weird because the perspective is off in the rooflines. In the buildings that are shown in 3/4 with a receding wall the roofline remains horizontal to the horizon line instead of having some sort of angle downward except for the roofline just below the right side of the center peak at the lowest catwalk (?) under the line of prayer flags. Those two angled rooflines establish a vanishing point, (sort of), which is visually in tension with the lines that are not following the angles to the VP left or right.
It looks like the attempt was to just match the rooflines up with the edge of the top of the back wall. If they would have broken up the rooflines just enough to match up with the VP and filled in the breaks with mountainscape in the background I think the effect would have been more successful. Better than a plywood wall but more of a first pass I hope.
Joe R. have you seen this? Sorry, it's a C-.
