This thread has been stickied for 15 years and amassed over 800,000 view. But with Joe Rohde long gone, the chances of a Yeti repair seem remote, so it is time to unstick. Maybe it can be revived in the future with positive news. We live in hope!

Everest was amazing today!
Bird on a stick! Broken track present! SMOKE! The smoke was on! The steam! I’ve never seen it before!
The second waterfall was working!
Only broken effect was the Yeti, but that’s to be expected.

Still no fog/ smoke in the tunnels right?

It was! Totally hid the tracks switching and you fell through the fog and out of the mountain. Such an amazing feeling.
They also got the mists coming out of the AT-ATs in front of Star Tours.
I guess they hired a Master Mist Engineer!

My brother is a master mist engineer. We call mister master mister.
Does he work for some of the German themeparks as mister master mistermeister?

It's a significant loss for the attraction -- obviously not quite at the level of the yeti, but it had a major effect on the overall ride experience.

I think I would put it equal to the yeti - maybe even bigger. Seeing the tracks visibly switch is a major change to the design of the ride experience.
They never really tried to make the yeti work in B-mode. Added a strobe light and called it a day. With proper lighting and some physical effects, the current yeti scene could still look really cool.
