I wouldn't want them to just restore a little bit of animation though cause I feel like management would say "Good enough," and we'd never see it shine like it once did. If they didn't have that mindset then by all means give it something, but I'm afraid they do.
10 years ago I would have said the same thing, but with being such a tremendous example of bad show I'm desperate for them to do SOMETHING to improve this scene. If they can't score 100% they should at least give us 75% -- it's been less than 10% for more than a decade.

At this point I wonder if the people in the company trying to get the funds/ok for it would have more luck trying to suggest it as a 50th anniversary thing instead of a basic thing that should have been done years ago.

Am I alone in thinking this ride could use a 2.0 version and a bit of a reimagining?
I would actually like to see this happen to Tower of Terror before Everest. Note: NOT a re-theme (though I would be okay with removing the Twilight Zone branding), My reasoning behind this is Tower of Terror is 75% show and 25% thrill. If you don't believe me, I've ridden it with the lights on and sound off and you'd be surprised how tame the drop sequences are. Everest on the other hand is perhaps 75% thrill, 25% show.

But I do have some ideas, aside from fixing the yeti. Some actual sets could be added to the section between the first and second lift. Other trains, a campsite, more of the village... something.

Originally there were thick and tall lines of bamboo visually separating all the exterior sections of the ride from being in view of each other. This was changed several years back for safety reasons of bamboo being prone to snapping and falling easily. Instead it was all replaced with short shrubbery. I wish they could bring back some sort of visual barrier because it gave more of an illusion of traveling somewhere rather than going in circles.

Some sort of physical animation could really enhance the first broken track scene. Something simple, but better than the bird that doesn't work.

Reverse tunnel: cover up the gap between the track and tunnel with a curtain to block the daylight leak. Add some subtle lighting effects but not too many because the darkness is part of the thrill. this tunnel, believe it or not, is themed with rockwork. You just can't see it.

Well, the latest death rattle of a tweet from clickbait is literally a BREAKING non-story, quoting Rohde's tweet
For anyone who hasn't seen it yet, the article claims that "internal sources" have told them that a "multi-month refurb" is "imminent". Given the site's track record I don't believe it at all but it's worth mentioning in this thread.

Splash Mountain had a multi-month refurb and they didn't add a working Yeti to that!!

When is WDWMagic going to start selling Expedition Everest Effects Status Watches? I want to wear something I can look at that tells me whether or not the yeti is working.
That yeti is scary enough when he doesn’t work...I can only imagine how scary it would be if he did move again!

Are they ever going to fix the yeti? I mean, by my count, it's been over 10 years since he's worked on an kind of consistent basis. You'd think now with Pandora opening up that this might be a good time to shut E:E down for a refurbishment that includes FINALLY fixing the yeti. Any news from Joe R and team about any designs to fix the yeti once and for all?
