Expedition Everest Challenge

Has anybody done this race? I know it got rained out last year, but I just booked for May, and I was thinking about doing this race as long as it fell on the dates we happened to book.

I did it its inaugural year. There were no issues with rain that year.

Highlights were cooling off in the Kali River Rapids and Everest with a fully operational Yeti after the race.

The downside was the lengthy wait in the corrals with 5 minute intervals - too long between starts for a race like that!

It was a fun time, but not like a true race. The inclusion of the obstacle course and especially the scavenger hunt makes for a fun event, but not something to look to set a personal time record. :lol: I remember being confused as to the point in time in which the timed portion of the event was actually over. :shrug:

The other thing I remember was just how bad the Animal Kingdom park smelled of animal p00. :lol: Everybody was commenting on that- even the cast members.

I did it last year, it didn't rain. It's was a fun night, we all enjoyed it a lot.

I hadn't ever looked into what was in the Everest Challenge, this looks awesome!

My family and I did it in 2009 and it was a total Blast, even with the rain. We fortunately were in the front of the pack so we were able to finish before they called the race. I highly recommend it.

Well, we're all registered for the Challenge...should be fun to run a race with my wife for the first time....plus it's her 1st race ever!

I too participated in the Inaugural Challenge back in 2008. And like Doug mentioned, the wait in the corrals was a bit ridiculous. There were folks finishing the 5K portion of the event before I even started it. :lol:
