Well there you go. I've been thrice in my life, so I want all I can squeeze out of my ticket.
This is us explaining that we feel they impact us. They don't impact you, some of us are in a different boat. What you feel about extras is different than what others feel.
It's an internet forum, where we're discussing premium events in the premium events thread. No one's angry, we're having a discussion, no reason to be sad.
I understand explaining how you feel. But, from what I've seen here, the people who complain the loudest about things like holiday parties and Disney after hours are people who don't even have trips during those times anyway. And if they do, they knew about them well beforehand and chose to go anyway.
Because it's an Internet forum there are people here who are planning trips.. they read a ton of negative about something and maybe decide to skip, or go on different dates- because they think it will be a huge deal.
I've seen people post that they are "skipping DS because they read here about the park being half closed and a construction zone"
Those people made a bad choice based on bad information, but in the end -yes, their decision does fall on them alone. Skip DS if you don't like the park, or nothing there sounds interesting to you, not because of bad information.
Same with holiday parties. Last year was my first time ever being at Disney World during the Christmas holidays. By far my favorite trip ever- and it was the shortest park hours, at multiple parks, than any trip before. HS closed at 7. Resort prices and ticket prices are higher that time of year, but again- still the most amazing time regardless of park hours.
The parties did not negatively impact us, and they didn't negatively impact anyone in my planning groups or people I know who have been before.
I think it's ok to point out what those times of the year are actually like.
