Everyone's Best and Worst Dining Experiences?

Looking all the way back to my response to michaelnyc, I don't believe I ever said that I was right and he was wrong. I only presented another side.
yet both engaged in a "I'm right you wrong" kind of interchange and also it felt like you were offended when others disagreed with you and you had to run to insist about your reuben.

Just let it go and put your own "best and worst". which is supposed to be the reason of this thread, not to degenerate or derail with random conversations or arguments.

Best....Blue Zoo...exceptional service, exceptional presentation, exceptional food...albeit exceptionally high prices.
Also in my best are Brown Derby and Coral Reef(despite long wait times, we've always had great meals)

Worst...Chefs de France...sorta my fault. I overloaded on cheese, cheese, cheese. My app. My soup. My salad.
Also had a bad meal at Il Mulino. Veal was like cardboard. Deserves a second chance though. I love the setting at San Angel but have had sub-par meals there. I think it has been revamped since my last visit there a number of years ago. Also have bad memories of Raglan Road after having our meal right next to the bathroom. Since then, my wife will always speak up about table location if a host or hostess tries to seat us near a bathroom.

Best: California Grill. The food was fantastic, I loved the atmosphere of the place and our server Gary was such good fun. He told us some great stories and helped choose a great wine to pair with my meal, as wine is something I know very little about! Being able to go outside and watch Wishes with a glass of white in hand was quite something too.

Worst: Teppan Edo, by a way. In complete contrast to California Grill, our waiter didn't seem to care and I'd even go as far to say she was rude. She snatched my glass out of my hand for a re-fill at one point! Our chef didn't seem overly enthusiastic either, and the food wasn't of a particularly high standard. I'd heard so many good things but left pretty disappointed.

Gary was my waiter at the CG one evening when I enjoyed a 2 1/2 hour meal. It didn't feel too long at all - great meal and a great waiter!

Really? You're going to challenge my use of the word "excellent"? While I would not compare the Plaza Restaurant to Victoria & Albert's, I had a very tasty reuben sandwich. It was fresh, it was hot, it was brought to me in a timely manner by a friendly and skilled waiter. And this happened on more than one occasion. So, for me, the experience and the sandwich were excellent - or as Webster puts it: "possessing outstanding quality or superior merit; remarkably good." I never indicated that it was better than Victoria & Albert's - only that it was a great lunch.
Yes, I am... Clearly you have no clue and no standards which is fine. People go to the Olive Garden and Applebee's...

It pleases me that you are fine with my mediocrity. I always thought of my self as having standards (as well as a clue). Sad to find I'm without either, but at least you're fine with it.

Until my upcoming trip, I have limited experience with Disney restaurants. I went twice as a child but I don't remember anything aside from re-riding the Muppet ride over and over. I went last year but I could only afford a day at MK and a night at Downtown Disney, and there my best and worst dining experience was the same place; Raglan Road.

The rain was really coming down so my girlfriend and I were sprinting through Downtown Disney trying to find RR, worried as we were running a bit late due to the construction/parking situation. We finally saw the sign for RR and darted inside. Unfortunately this was a side entrance though we didn't know. So we stood off to the side of a walk path waiting to be seated, trying not to drip on their floor too much.
After a few minutes, a waiter was walking past us, and actually tried to flick me away with the back of his hand in a very prissy manner, and his expression wasn't "excuse me, can I squeak by" but "ugh... move!". I was cheesed but I didn't want to express it so I could preserve this day as a good experience for my girlfriend.

Then came nothing but good! A hostess saw us standing awkwardly and welcomed us warmly and apologized for the wait. They took us to our table which was fantastic, right in the middle of the room, next to the centre stage. We had a fantastic waitress that took our drink order, and around this time my girlfriend realized her new camera wasn't on her and had no idea where it could be. She was panicking and I left to retrace our steps (hard to do in the rain) to see if she dropped it. I even called our hotel and asked them to take a look in our room to see if she left it there. By this point it was well past an hour and a half of our ADR, but the staff and waitress were completely understanding and held the table for us on a very busy Friday night. Eventually I gave up the search and took a seat and the waitress brought me my drink and the food, service and entertainment were all fantastic that night, really made it a special night for us.

Wow, didn't expect to write that much. Long story short: Raglan Road is great and the camera was back in the room in her other purse.

Good Lord, just let it go. Dude said the sandwich he had was excellent. You don't need to be eating Fillet and Lobster Tail for something to be excellent. I've had excellent pizza, burger, and and, yes sandwiches as much or more as I've had excellent 'high end' food. Just because something doesn't require you to take a second mortgage out to eat it, doesn't mean it can't be excellent.

To add something to this thread, my favorites are :
Quick serve:
Columbia Harbor House MK
Flame Tree BBQ AK
Sunshine Seasons Epcot (lol, I forgot the name and had to look it up. just knew it was in 'The Land')

Restaurants :
Narcoossee's Grand Floridian
Via Napoli Epcot
Grand Flordian Cafe
Le Chef de France

Not too much I haven't liked, but Rain Forest Cafe was awful. Didn't like the food at Biergarten, but the show made that tolerable, so I wouldn't not recommend it because of that.

Thanks for the support. This discussion has now devolved to where both Hockey89 and I want to have the last word. I need to let it go, too, but it's hard . . . . .

From my recent trip:

Best: Coral Reef-My steak was done perfectly, both entree and dessert portions were perfect. My daughter had the vegan "chicken" and veggies and absolutely adored it. The server was attentive without trying to expedite us through the meal.

Worst: Cinderella's: I know you're there for the atmosphere, but there was no excuse for poorly prepared food and inattentive waitstaff. My braised short rib required a knife to saw through it, and the portions were comically small. My waitress vanished for 15 minutes when I was trying to get a refill of drinks.

The problem is, that other dude doesn't let it go either.
Derailing the thread from what it was supposed to be.
he seems to have to want to comment on everything and not just do what the thread is supposed to be (aka PERSONAL best and worst)
I dont think the original functionality of this thread was akin to have a single person comment into everyone else's best and worst and then him getting angry when the original posters start telling him to drop it.

Best:
Jiko's: just about anything
Morimoto's Asia: Buri Bop
California Grill: Dragon Roll

Worst:
Skipper's Canteen: overpriced, small portions, bland or sour tasting.
Sci Fi: if you can ruin a Hamburger and Tomato soup, you have no hope....
Tony's: Bland, poor service and dirty.

Every single thing is the above post is incorrect. But rather than refuting it point by point, this is me letting go . . . . .
