Today was the first day we used our brand spanking new photo system. The border for the photos is really creative and definitely fits in with the atmosphere of the ride. Now all you brave souls will have physical evidence that you conquered the forbidden mountain.

I wish they had it working during the annual pass holder's preview... I made it a point to get a picture the first time I went on it, but, they didn't have it, and now it just won't be the same picture as the first time I went on it. :(

Thanks for the update. The photo is taken at the drop (like Splash Mtn), right?

Yep, it's literally right as the train starts to slope downward, saw some pretty good facial expressions from first timers seeing that drop.

would you like some cheese to go with that whine?

When you go on an attraction in advance of the official opening, you can't expect everything to be 100% operational. if having the on-ride photo of your ride experience is so very important that getting a picture in the future just won't be the same, maybe you should have waited. . .

Just back from AK and the photo system is indeed now up and running. The monitors look great, they are very well themed like everything else in the attraction. They also have a great image to display when the photos get wiped out. I didn't ride yet today, I just grabbed a Fastpass for 1:20pm - 2:20pm. I will be heading back after lunch. I'll try to get some pics.

Just rub it in that you live so close.
Its great living less than 10 minutes from any WDW park isn't it.

As for Everest. I rode today around 1:45. The ride was great as usual, however the Yeti was in B mode again, and the steam is still MIA. Both waterfalls were working properly.

speaking of the ride photos...i rode today and tried to take a picture of my ride picture. i was told not to (very rudely) by the merchandise cast member there. i've never had a problem with doing this anywhere else.

Yeah... you're not supposed to do that.
