Hey folks:

Just back from a trip to DAK and MGM. EE is continuing to grow. It looks as if the mountain structure has peaked out, and the skin/rockwork is starting to go on the metal structure. Work was going on today, small earth-movers were working tonight around 5pm'ish.

Enjoy the pictures:

It's looking great! The mountain will really overshadow that walkway from the Tarzan theater when it's done. Thanks for the update!

Either supports for maintences/ride evacuation walkway, or supports for the mountain structure...or maybe both.

Great shots Speck!

I agree StevenT, the mtn will be imposing walking up that path!

I just got back from WDW and it seems the mountain has reached it's highest point but the track is far from finished. They were working on the footings when I was at DAK.

Thanks for the great pictures, Speck! I especially love the last one from the African bridge - it gives a perspective with the Tree of Life in the shot.

Can't wait!

Awesome pics Speck76. My favorite is the one from Africa. Seeing those snow covered mountains is going to look very cool.

Loving the pic from Africa. I love how Disney plans all those sitelines out in advance, yet they seem so coincidental. Much like the Splash Mountain drop being visible from Liberty Square through the narrow clearing in the trees. Perfect placements. Thanks for the pics!

Thanks for the great pics and update, Speck. I look forward to updates like this since I'm sooooo far away from the magic.

Everest is still planned to open Earth Day the year it opens. And from what I have heard, the ride is ahead schedual in construction. Anyway, is it supposed to open 2005, or 2006? I can't remember.

I don't think EVEREST will open on Earth Day. It is scheduled to open in 2005, but they are optimistically hoping for late 2005 (and with it being ahead of schedule, this is very likely). It will DEFINITELY have grand opened by April 2006, though--no question about that. If you plan a vacation for summer 2006 or later, you will definitely get to ride--barring any Test Track syndrome ;)

I don't usually know what humanmap is talking about...there is no hold-up...they add steel every day lol.
