Exactly...from all good sources, April 22, 2006 is a SAFE approximation for an opening, and it will most likely open before then. Furthermore, Disney seems rather confident that it will open early, as it has added Everest to Disneyland's 50th anniversary page, where Lucky the Dinosaur used to be. That suggests to me that it will open sooner rather than later. By the way, the OFFICIAL top speed of EVEREST has risen and the name of the attraction has changed. It is now Expedition EVEREST! (the exclamation point is very importantspeck76 said:WDC has always said a 2006 opening....I have heard from fairly good sources that they were going to try and get it open by the end of 2005. I have never heard of any delays, but I have heard of it being well ahead of schedule.
The only reason I can think anyone would think it is delayed is if they taking the propaganda BS at some other "doom and gloom" websites to heart.
Surprisingly enough, the queue is similar to Kali River Rapids and more tropical than snowy. The temperatures drop as you rise up the mountain (like in real life) and it turns into a complete blizzard at points. You'll definitely want to pack your winter coat in your backpack for this attractionGlasgow said:Methinks the queue for this ride is going to be wicked .. sort of like dueling dragons at IOA, only with ice, snow, and a disney touch

The parts of track near the ground and outside of the mountain do not appear to be started, as in a few points, the track just kind of stops in mid-air.
The village area that has been built so far looks nice...well, it looks authentic. The current village houses a restroom (which is not huge) and a building that could one day be a gift shop....right now, it is nothing. The mountain structure is much further off of the path than it looks in the pictures....I am sure something will be built in this area.
There is no unused building. There are currently two buildings on houses the women’s bathroom the other the men’s, between them is a water fountain. The side of one building says something about a hotel opening next season not a restaurant. And this is only for theming. That’s why there is construction equipment permanently around the building. The builders have been scared off by the Yeti. Also the two buildings that have been built do not appear in the concept art. Those buildings will be constructed behind the blue wall.DarkMeasures said:Isn't the unused building built right now the restaurant? Because I remember it has that the restaurant is coming soon on it.
I wonder if to simulate the coldness, an air-conditioning system will be used around the mountain. As in to to make it actually get colder the higher up the mountain.
And another thing. Everest should have no problems at all this is due to the fact that the ride is using no new technology really that what BTMRR uses. If you may not notice, but for the trains to reach the holding barn, they have to travel backwards quite a bit to reach the place.
I know what your talking about. And to be honest have no clue what they are. I just assumed they were from Kali.speck76 said:I guess there is a ladies restroom there too...oops
Now, are those Yeti noises being played behind the restrooms? I have noticed some type of noise....it sounds like somebody is having troubles in the restroom.

ISTCNavigator57 said:There are about 5 new buildings coming--one for the new sit-down Indian restaurant, one for the expected gift shop, and roughly 3 for the queue. Everest will use a very powerful air conditioning system as well as snow machines.
Why do you think this ride has an insanely high capacity of about 2500 guests per hour? That rivals Pirates of the Caribbean.DarkMeasures said:Real fake snow? And real coldness? If that is true, this ride will be the BEST RIVE EVAR! But then again, the coolness from the natural heat of AK will make Everest have 4 hour waits.
