Everest Path Closed During Previews?

I would have posted this in Gen. Discussion, but IMG code is turned off in there, so please forgive me.

Anyway, I think I read somewhere that during the DVC/AP previews, the path leading to Everest is going to be closed, as sketched in this photo:

The path in yellow is supposed to be closed off to the general public, and only DVC/AP will be allowed past the CMs posted at each end. Is this true? If so, will they allow a guest of mine (who is neither DVC or AP) to wait for me inside closed off area? I only ask this because it would be most convenient to come in on one side (such as Dinoland, USA) and come out on the other (Asia). I'm just not sure if they would allow us to pass through.

Anyone know how this is going to work?

This was also the crowd control measures used during the Press Events for EE with queue ropes and CMs stationed at both entrances.

I'd imagine if you didn't have credentials you don't get in as there are no more check points. Sorry!

Yeah, They will probobly just loo kat your AP or DVC card and then let you by, same as it was for cast. and then you will use your AP to get a fastpass for your free gift, same as it was for cast. Just my guess.

You're using the singular referring to your "guest"... Aren't you allowed to take a guest with you? If so, your problem is solved... Unless you already accounted for your allowance of guests and this is an "extra" one? :brick:

OP didn't say how they were getting in...

That's kind of the point. I was curious if my guest would be able to go into the closed off area (but not ride Everest), so that it would be easier to get from one end of the park to the other.

Sorry, I meant that you didn't specify whether you yourself were getting in with and AP or DVC. Not how your guest might get in...

I gather you've got an AP, which means your guest won't get in.

One other thing:

Are previews starting when the park opens? Or are they starting them at some obscure time in the day?

some peple were prety ticked because they couldn't cross. some where ticked because they couldn't go to the coaster they were hearing the screams from. And our fellow cast members at the gates would say that it was a special event. But i told people it was a cast preview when they asked, mostly because i was carying around that huge sun visor they gave us and it raised alot of questions by paserbyers who didn't have one ofthe thousands goign around the park.

That's exactly why I think they should be holding these things AFTER the park closes, not before....that way you wouldn't have all these normal park guests disappointed because they couldn't ride while thousands of other people are (Universal held AP Previews for ROTM after park closing and even had a few other rides in the area open, which was great....too bad Disney can't do the same).

I agree...these previews tend to just make other guests feel like dirt. Why ruin other guests' trips by setting up a clear hierarchy in the parks? I know I would prefer an AP after hours party with bands, drinks, and the opportunity to ride. They did this for DCA's opening of the ToT, and I thought it was very effective--a true privilege for APers that doesn't have a negative impact on normal guests. I also don't think they need these previews to last several days...a one night after hours party would suffice.

They tried a one night AP party for the opening of something as simple as the opening of Primeval Whirl and it was a complete disaster with more complaints than thanks by those attended. A 2-3 hour one night party for as many AP members that WDW has for something as big as EE would be an even bigger disaster.

I agree though that having these AP/DVC/cast previews after hours would be the better way to go. I'm sure there are many regular guests upset to see people riding EE and they can't.

The only AP preview I've done had been for Soarin', in which they took us behind the Imagination pavillion.

Do the CMs take you through the normal entrance or the Fastpass one?
