WOW!!! It seems this attraction does not perform well in December. Last year when I was there, Everest had 3 consecutive days of problems. One of those days someone died on the attraction; another day a CM got hurt real bad.

We were there for Thanksgiving week and were evacuated ourselves from the ride. We were stuck where you start to go forward again after going backward. We walked down 15 flights of stairs and through the inside of the mtn. The first time I have ever been evacuated from a ride.

I wouldn't mind that so much. I'm intrigued by backstage things so would have enjoyed an evac. However I have this irrational fear that I'll be on a looping coaster and have it get stuck right at the top of a loop leaving me hanging there for hours.

I know its only happened once or twice ever, but knowing my luck, that'll be me one day.

WOW- getting out and climbing back up into the mountain/or down the mountain looks REALLY dangerous. Is this picture just deceiving???

What I am looking like makes me think of my nine year old on there. Did CM's escort people etc.? How do they do this?? I have never been on a ride like that that failed.

Which is why I do not touch rides that go upside down.

Good question, I mean I would be terrified to be stuck on any roller coaster. I know there are stairs on the side but I would be mortified that I would fall. Does Disney give them anything for getting stuck?

i had the opportunity to go into the control room of EE in the fall and the CMs say evacs happen for a whole host of reasons and are not at all uncommon. unfortunately there is no elevator inside the mountain which makes evacing guests who need assistance very interesting.

disney wouldn't put their guests in unnecessary danger so i'm sure the evac process is very safe.

Very cool pics. Thanks for posting. You say that they disappeared- forever? Does Disney kill off those who experience a bad ride? Hmmm...:)

Anyone think that the guy at the back of the ride must be really strong?!!? :ROFLOL:

I'm sure the people get a re-admit slip good for EE or any other attraction in the park.

As for walking up/down the stairs, the train is fairly long, so it'll always have either the front at the top or the back at the bottom of the mid-air span of that lift hill. When they evac, they'll walk people toward the direction where the train is between the Guests and mid-air. They won't have Guests walk along the stairs with just empty track on one side. If you have the railing on one side of the stairs, and the train on the other, it's very safe.

So in the pics posted, the guests would be walked up the stairs to the top of the mountain before being brought down. If the train had stopped with the front end in the middle of the span, the Guests would have been walked down the stairs to the bottom.

That would freak me out if I had to climb out there. The only part of the ride that bothers me is the lift. I love the drops etc. but slowly going up like that kills me.
