Hey there everybody, had a fun day at the parks today, and noticed two major things...

STUDIOS

-as it has been reported, the Monsters Inc. meet and greet is moving. They are constructing (very openly might I add.) a new meet and greet where the old Goosebumps Horror Maze was. (Near the exit to the Backlot Tour) They have already stocked Monsters Inc. merch in the nearby store, so it should open soon.

-New Speaker towers have been added from Echo Lake (near ABC Theatre) all the way to Backlot Express restaraunt for Block Party Bash.

-Muppets really needs a rehab. Broken AAs, faded, burnt-out gobos, and a flickering projector. My favorite show needs a cleaning!

-RNR seemed to be backed up nearly all day...

-it was surprisingly crowded.

Ok, here's the Pictures!

Enjoy!

Thanks for another great update. I like the new photo site - it's faster.

I know that I'm in the minority, but I really like DHS. I may spend more time at other parks, but I love the style and the feel of DHS. Hopefully, the old Hollywood vibe won't disappear completely when they Pixarcise part of the park.

First of all, awesome update, like usual!

I have two things to say.

1) Picasa is a bajillion times better then EPSON. You made a wise choice, even though you were forced into it.

2) Do you realize the thunderstorm you have just made on the interwebs? You basically just broke the news that Pixar is making a traditionally animated feature. I hope you realize this. It is mind boggling, and makes me incredibly excited for Pixar's future.

Heh, I wish. No, "Up." will still be Pixar-Style, this is just the first bit of concept art ever released. You can see Pixar's first HAND animated short "Your friend the rat" on the Ratatouille DVD.

I agree about DHS. For some reason, I just love walking around that park. I don't know what it is. I just enjoy it.

DHS is very nice. Everyone, myself included, gives it a good deal of flack, but all in all I do enjoy it. I houses my favorite ride (RnR) and is pretty to look at. Hopefully it will get more to do, but then again, it wouldn't be as enjoyable with all those people around.

no photos of the white washed tower?

Nice shots of everything, did they get around to fixing the mgm on the back of the flats used for the drive in?

yeah, thats what ppl are telling me. (i have the ratatouille dvd, so i know all about that!). but, im just so surprised. the picture does not look like concept art. ive seen alot, and that looks like a high quality image from the movie. if you compare that with the first shot from "the princess and the frog", i would say that the pixar picture looks way better. (http://bp2.blogger.com/__kA16vnWHH0/R4ixrt0aq-I/AAAAAAAAAac/UxkZ30LW9iw/s1600-h/Tianabalcony1.jpg)

ive never seen pixar concept art like this before, because usually it is much more stylized. But, i believe you. Anyway, its fun to think Pixar would go that way. Pixar is certainly known for pushing the envelope.

One minor note.

Unthemed Speaker Towers :brick:

I used to work PAC and Fantasmic at MGM a a year ago and a lot of effort was obviously put in to conceal the old speaker equipment along the parade route. Which is why it annoys me too see new, unthemed speaker towers just dropped into the park, is'nt this the kind of stuff that made DCA the shambles that it was?

It's hard to tell by the photo (it was kind of an overcast day.) but there was rods on the tops and bottoms so that BPB banners will be over them.

(and no, MGM was still all over Sci-Fi Drive In.)

I love your quote under the writers shop photo..."Shouldn't this store be on strike?" Gotta love it! Hopefully though this problem ends soon:shrug:

What was the Goosebumps Horror Maze? I expect that it had something to do with the childrens books but....never heard of this before, even here.

Your thread title seems to be suffering from a bad case of Tourettes. :lookaroun
Anyhow, another great update as usual, and I must echo the sentiment that Picasa is MUCH better than Epson. Load times are much better, and the picture and caption all fit on my screen now! :D

There's this park that's been on my mind
all the time, Stu-Stu-Studios
Now I always forget it's name
But I think that's just because it changed
Stu-Stu-Studios!
