Hey, everyone! Have some actual UPDATES in this Update, so let's get on with it.
EPCOT
-First off, Spaceship Earth!
1: Electric tubes are back. woo!
2:Languages! I listened to it in Japanese, French, and Deutsch. Really amazing how the front row can be listening to it in another language, while the back can hear it english. Bravo WDI R&D! (Once more...the word "Cheap" it can NOT be called!)
3: Added black arches to the first ascent tunnel, before the photo capture area. Also, if you look close enough, they added a few of those pads that are behind the loading area, except painted black, so Load now "dissolves" into darkness.
4: "Touch where you live" now happens BEFORE photo capture.
5: The new industrial pipes "skyline" painting is cool.
6: The street mural infront of the paperboy DOES make it look better.
7: The new glowy phone wires above the switching station look great.
8: Yes, computer guy DOES have new, black hair.
9: No more trivia, city of the future-type loading screen instead.
10: Starting at where the old pepper's ghosts were, there are NO more star curtains (until the very end of descent), instead there are black triangles. They keep going in random patterns, until they get to where the old city of tommorrow was. Above where that was, is now a buch of triangles in a haphazard "starburst" time pattern. There are more until halfway down descent. None of them were lit up, except for the last few. They seem to make a strange "buzzing" sound that sounds exactly like the neon from the old descent. strange!
11: At the very end, we see earth on the screen, and as it turns it turns into Spaceship Earth. (In the same spot I said they should bring the model back too! Ha!)
12: Your picture appears on the globe in Project: TOMORROW, then "swoops" down onto where you live.
13: E-Mail kiosk! enter e-mail adress. It tries to see your face, but everytime it didn't for me. (maybe because I had my hat on again. not sure.) If picture is not found, you go through them by topic. (Home, work, leisure, travel) I believe that this was Day 1 of the E-Mail systems, because I saw quite a few Imagineers overseeing it. Found out that photos will be kept in the E-Mail system for 30 Minutes! Pictures in Update, and video below!
Overall, I love it! I think the rehab is now MUCH better, and I'm impressed by the hard work done (and yet to do) by WDI! Congrats guys!
-Waste Management in Innoventions was having a Soft Opening, and I got the chance to try it. Here's how it works!
Step 1: You are one of three teams. (A family, or smaller parties put together. I was alone, with a random family of three.) After an introduction, you step up to a computer and enter your team name, and answer a series of questions. After that, it "sends the trash" to a Garbage truck. (Picture a small shopping cart that looks like a garbage truck, with a small Plasma Screen TV where the cart would be. When you push it, it makes car noises, when it stops you hear the brake, and when you back it up it beeps!)
Step 2: You "park" the tram at the first game station. This game is the best of the three. You have a long screen, and you play as part of a recycling team. For example, I was charged with sorting paper, and metal, glass and etc. were beside me. When trash was dropped on your screen, using your hand, you would send it to your box, or pass it off to the other players down the line. this was ALOT of fun, and (believe it or not) it got REALLY hard to avoid the beer bottles and soda cans flying your way!
Step 3: Once the recycled trash is loaded up on the truck, you park it at the next station. This one is a basic driving game in which you push trash into a compactor or something like that.
Step 4: Trash all cubed up and ready to go, it's now time to landfill it. In this game you have a joystick and a "pick up/drop" button. At a single screen, you drive the dirt around and fill the ground up with it until it "becomes" whatever you wanted to do with it.
Step 5: park the truck at the Scoring station to see how well everybody did. After your done, you E-Mail a completion paper off to yourself. (not able to do that for the Soft Opening.)
Overall, quite fun. Nice work.
-In Gran Fiest Tour, where the "Street Vendors" used to be, there is brand new LED lighting. ALOT like the SSE Outdoor tree lighting. Video below!
-It was quite crowded. Big waits for everything! It got better after a quick rainstorm though.
Before the pictures, I have a few videos taken from my Camera...
