I wonder how offensive the taco barges would look at Disney Springs…
Could Be kinda a cool way to save/see the show. I’m sure powering them up would become cost prohibitive- and I could see the same argument being had that they would ruin site lines- still, kinda a fun way to spend your evening in the shopping district
I don't hate the idea. Adding to it.... They could break up the various parts of Harmonious into mini shows that would play every 30 minutes or so. Just the screens, arms and fountains with a burst or two of pyro at the end of each segment.

It would be nice to have a nighttime show at Disney Springs, but I think the only way it would work out well is a separate venue where they would charge admission. Very unlikely Disney would ever offer a free big nighttime show.

They did have a drone show one holiday season. I think the main issue here is that currently Disney Springs does not need the extra draw. It already is the number one attended "attraction" at Walt Disney World, hosting millions more annually than even the Magic Kingdom. Of course That's because it's free and so it's parking but there in lies the problem. As busy as it is already is could they even be in a position to host the additional crowds created by having a night time spectacular?

I’m not big of business finance but if they were to move the barges/tacos, they wouldn’t be able to write it off as a loss since they’re trashing the show? Right?

Yeah exactly. Adding in a nighttime show, free anyway, would be a disaster.
That would likely result in paid parking. Off subject but honestly I’m a little surprised paid parking hasn’t happened yet at DS.

But the concept art showed the water being white and completely concealing all the hardware!! That seemed to be all it needed to get greenlit. Quite amazing that nobody in a position of power thought that was going to be an issue, and that water is usually fairly transparent.

Even if it had worked, I can see it being a problem with the screens being hit by that all day. There would be a constant film and/or mineral depost buildup on them.

Maybe they wouldn't have had to be that on it since they're being viewed from a distance so a little lost fidelity wouldn't be the end of the world but I'm sure it's a level of maintenance that someone who thought clearish water would hide a black screen hadn't considered, either.

I could see the screens being salvaged for some kind of project. They never even found a good way to use them with their weird shapes in the show they were specifically designed for so I don't see them fixing that with an updated version of the show anywhere else but maybe they could find a way to repurpose that hardware. It's probably modular enough that a good portion of them could be reconfigured into something more rectangular.

Depending on how integrated they are, maybe those arms could end up separately in Tomorrowland with some functional or stationary purpose.

I'm not saying I want to see this, mind you, but I'm thinking back to how the original orbiter hardware out in DL became a kind of junky thematically lacking satellite dish array and how parts of the Dreamfinder vehicle ended up in Mouseworks - the way parts from old attractions sometimes show up in new places as cheaply attained props or scenery.

All that said, I don't think there is any way they're going to move these complete barges anywhere and show some version of Harmonious at another location anywhere in the world.

Speaking of useless oversized screens, I was driving by the one down off International Drive Saturday night and there was a huge square of it not working... Also, with them stating right on it that park tickets could be bought inside, I'm still trying to figure out how this digital billboard is supposed to be considered and art installation.

I wonder if the barges might be reused somewhere, Disney california adventure? Seven seas lagoon? I would say a replacement for Electrical water pageant (which would be in the top 5 biggest mistakes in history of Disney)
For what these cost you would think they might try to reuse them and they have that huge lake that isnt utilized as much as originally planned, that is of course you dont need a ticket to enjoy that, so not sure they would want to do that.
They can reuse and repurpose most of the equipment on the barges. Lights, fountains, the screens.
