Luminous also has those weird fleet of helicopter like fireworks that are used for a brief moment at the beginning of You'll be in my Heart. I don't know why they use them right there. But they're neat.

A great pyro effect! They were used many many many years ago during LuminAria at DCA, their first attempt at a night show at DCA.

Now that I think of it... LuminAria ... Luminious ... reusing a pyro effect from a similarly named show? Cheeky creative team.

Personally I think the perimeters are such a well known Epcot staple at this point, them being early in the show doesn’t make much difference.
It's not a huge thing. But you do forget about them. I think epcot forever used them well. When they hit they still startle me even after seeing it 20+ times.
I do think they tried something new and interwsting with them firing in as greetings from the Pavillions.

I agree, it feels like a call to a gathering, so I do like the use of them during the welcome segment.

And it still seems to catch people off guard when they fire again during "See the Light".

Just created a new poll (I like polls, if you hadn't noticed) regarding what is the GNSOAT (greatest nighttime spectacular of all-time) at Epcot. Does Luminous rise to the occasion? Or is RoE still your moving buddy? Or are you a nonconformist who is mourning the loss of Harmonious? Or perhaps you are a fan of the Laserphonic Fantasy? Let us know in the poll linked here!

Yes
It's funny because I'd say Luminous will hang out in the company of Carnival de Lumiere, A New World Fantasy and Laserphonic Fantasy. We're entering cult classic territory.

This is probably one of the best shows in a while for keeping elements hidden until the end of the show. And as it’s pretty much a traditional fireworks show for a change, I think what they keep until the end works.
Yes I agree. I think the sea wall pyro is not really a surprise at this point, but is such a great effect I am just happy to see it used throughout the show. I think Luminous makes really good use of it.

Here is our multi-angle edit of 'Luminous The Symphony of Us.'

Shot from Canada, Norway, and Italy.

I'm currently sitting in the waiting room at the dealership while my vehicle's oil gets changed and I doubt the roomful of mostly older men would appreciate a fireworks-via-video soundtrack...so I'll have to watch it at a later time. 🤔 The inaugural live video I watched was not great (thanks Resort1tv), so I look forward to watching a better version.

Precisely, it's lovely to have it throughout the show.

You need an Illuminations 25 A and illuminations 25 B.

Thanks! The first Fanbase I've heard of was for 1988 IllumiNations.
That was such a great show. Way ahead of its time. The show spent a good portion of its time dedicated to the individual countries sans Morocco and Norway. There's a bunch of reasons Disney will give for why they were not included, most famously it would be against Moroccan culture to put lights on the building. Depending on who you talk to that is or is not true. but at the end of the day they weren't included because they weren't opened yet when the show started Disney just never got around to adding them. But the other countries got starring roles and there was even a primitive form of projection mapping onto the Germany pavilion that was made to look like a giant cuckoo clock at one point during the show.

Definitely ahead of its time. The closest we get to the show now is the New Year's Eve production.

I’ve never actually seen the original Illuminations or Illuminations 25, my family didn’t start going to WDW until 2004. It’s fascinating what came before.
