You can put the most expensive make up on a fat pig and it’ll still be a pig. The only interesting thing that’s opened at Epcot in the last decade has been Guardians. Future World is a disgusting mess, World Showcase has become an unrecognizable festival wasteland with rundown buildings and mediocre new attractions.
Not true. Rat, Test track, aas added to mexico, Regal eagle, space 220, connections, are all quality additions. Canada far and wide, and awesome planet were good updates.

Well, if we're going back a decade, add to the list:
  • Soarin theater expansion
  • Green Team experience added to Mission: Space
  • Frozen Ever After
  • Update to American Adventure show
  • New Japan restaurant
  • New Creperie
  • The whole new entrance package and SSE lightshow
  • Creations
  • Christmas overlay in LwtL keeps getting plussed each year
  • Skyliner transport
Whether they're 'mediocre' is a matter of opinion. Tho, I'm not going to count the BatB singalong as a plus. It's objectively awful.

The one area EPCOT truly took a step back was not reopening Morocco fully yet.

Also, @SaucyBoy, there's a substantial difference between 'mediocre' and 'wasteland.' A park can't be both at the same time. Don't let hyperbole cloud the point you're making.

I can't go into details unfortunately, but there has been a significant shift in the new EPCOT show.
If i not mistake, the soundtrack of the new EPCOT show will return to sung fully in English instead of many foreign languages, like during ROE. I don't much about it.

5th gate? Just build a new resort Bob.
Aquarium itself is always a highlight for my day
Same. My kids would spend 4 hours there if we let them. If there’s a thematic mish-mash it’s not obviously to us who haven’t seen the split themes - the whole thing seems like a learning aquarium loosely themed to Nemo to get the kids more interested.

I honestly think Space 220 has been the sleeper hit of all the new epcot additions. The SSE lights and Space 220 are the only two updates that I feel truly fit in Epcot and is something Disney would have done back in the 80's or 90's.

To be fair, I don't think drones were ever going to work, and I'd argue that they would be counterintuitive to a proper Lagoon show. WSL is staged as a rich canvas to expand upon, not overpower.

Music is going to be the kicker here, and I think they recognize that. "Original composition" seems to be an indicator that this can't just be another "Disney Concert". In fact, I'd be surprised if this show was lyrically heavy.

I think there's an inclination to make this more of a simplistic IllumiNations-style show, amplifying the remaining infrastructure and effects around the Lagoon. So, something like culturally-inspired orchestral Disney songs while the respective country lights up is what would serve as a slam dunk, especially if the "original composition" ties it together.

Here's to hoping they ask Pinar to put in just a bit more work and deliver a score. She's really bailed them out with the acoustics of this project, especially with the new BGM she's composed.

The pavilion is a wreck. The budget was savaged in 2006 and it was never improved. Thematically it’s a half assed mish mash - like the wider park. Still.
The new signage was giving me hope they were going to finally have the inside be something other than blue paint everywhere but I guess they aren't willing to go that far. It'd be amazing how much better it'd look inside with just a new paint scheme.

Both The Land and The Seas desperately need a facelift in their common areas, and it’s baffling that they don’t get them considering how small the relative cost would be and how far it would go in making that side of the park feel less tired.

Agreed. Their infrastructures and general design are both fine. Just a tweak in the finishes/design scheme (keeping the same ideas as they have currently) would freshen them up without "changing" anything.

Always wanted The Land pavilion to be turned into the "The Land & Air" pavilion so we can at least get something interesting in the Planet Awesome theater and a renovated pavilion.

The seas is getting an ongoing light refresh, and is looking good. I’ll try to get some pictures when I’m in there next. Sunshine seasons seating area really needs new carpet and furniture.

Disagree on nemo. The ride isn’t perfect but the pavilion itself is fine. Mission: space was updated and added a new restaurant. The land, test track, and sse are in good condition.

I was talking about the ride itself; not the pavilion as a whole. The ride is one of the worst at WDW. The rest of the pavilion could use a refresh too, though.

SSE is not in good condition at all.
